Mission: The amphi foundation promotes academic excellence through the expansion ofresources that enrich the education, development and well-being of the students in the amphi public schools.
Programs: In partnership with the amphitheater public school district, the amphi foundation was established in 1983 by educators and parents and later incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The amphi foundation promotes academic excellence through the expansion of resources that enrich the education, development, and well being of students in the amphitheater public schools. For the first 23 years the foundation's programs focused primarily on learning supports or services that helped to make is possible for students to attend school and participate in activities. These include the amphi clothing bank, emergency medical fund (school & sports physicals prescription cost assistance dental & medical care) and sports fee waivers. Additionally the foundation provides scholarships and financial support for students who qualified to attend regional and national academic competitions. In 2007 the amphi foundation launched its largest and broadest reaching program the 21st century classrooms initiative. Through this initiative the foundation is providing smart board interactive white boards in classrooms throughout the school district and is planning to increase fund development in future years so that we can continue to provide the latest relevant technology for our students. The mathplus+ tutoring program affiliated with the amphi foundation in 2008 and provides computer-aided tutoring integrated with math teaching in the classroom and is aligned to state standardsthe foundation's strength is its ability to respond to changing needs in the school district and to develop programs and initiatives meet those needs. Accomplishments include: scholarships awarded to non-title 1 schoolstechnology upgrades provided to multiple schoolsfunds awarded for athletic fee waivers given to students unable to afford to participate in sports without themcontribution of funds for students requiring academic travelsupport of a math tutoring programfull funding of a clothing bank for students and families referred by the health offices of the schools
