Causes: Football, Recreation & Sports, Sports
Mission: To coordinate popwarner football activities. Greater golden gate little scholars is an organization of associations to familialize participants with basic of tackle football, cheer, dancing, and inspire youth in sportsmanship.
Programs: 1. Scholastics; we encourage children to excel in academics and recognize their achievements. We have an annual scholastic banquet where we recognize the achievements of those who have earned an 80% gpa or better. In 2013, we recognized nearly 100 scholar athletes with trophies and certificates. 2. Dcoach trining; we provide training opportunities to volunteer coaches for football and cheerleading. There are nearly 20 people in this category for each of the 8 associations in our section. 3. National participation; we assist with the expenses to send staff to the national championships in florida where they provide on-site immediate assistance for the football players and cheerleaders during the week of the championships. Four people from our section participated in 2013 t0 assist nearly 100 children from the associations in our section.
