Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Health, Lung Diseases

Mission: Founded in 1904, the American Lung Association includes affiliated associations throughout the U.S. Most people think of us as the "Christmas Seal People." We are organized to fight modern lung diseases, which have become the third largest and fastest growing killer in the state of Vermont. We are a not-for-profit serving the entire State of Vermont, governed by a Board of Directors. Our primary focus is on asthma, tobacco control, and environmental health issues. We provide many programs in these areas to Vermonters. We also support research, are involved with advocacy, and other lung related issues. We are not a member of United Way.
