Mission: To provide the community with a building for the purposes of meeting, gathering and fostering support for veterans.
Programs: As support of our mission the organization has and continues to provide the following to our community: donated the use of the annex facility every three months to allow the blood bank to get donations. Donated the use of the annex facility every three months for the mobile unit from the veterans administration clinic in redding. Donated the use of the annex facility for the use by the mccloud resource center to have free community dinners for local residents. The post honor guard has participated in many funerals for veterans throughout siskiyou county. The post honor guard also carries our nations colors through parades in south siskiyou county. The post has made several monetary donations throughout the year to needy veterans that are passing through the county. Made contributions to several small local organizations. The post veterans service officer has helped veterans and their families throughout the year by advising them of their rights and benefits from the veterans administration. The american legion post facility is registered with siskiyou county as a shelter in case of emergencies. Many volunteer members from the post are registered with the siskiyou home guard. The home guard assists local families of deployed members of the national guard unit that is currently deployed to afghanistan. The post has donated the use of the annex facility at no charge for several veterans funerals and memorial services and community functions such as fund raising dinners and other functions sponsored by the mccloud fire department.
