Being captain of a Relay for Life Team (Beverly Hills) three years ago was my first time interacting with the American Cancer Society and it was the most extraordinary experience. The event was well run, highly successful and fully supportive of volunteers in every way possible. I had recently decided to focus my coaching business on working with cancer survivors and caregivers. I've had so much support and great training from American Cancer Society in the process. I now facilitate their "I Can Cope" Teleclasses, reaching hundreds of survivors and caregivers in need of support. I wish I had known about this non-profit when my late husband was diagnosed. I highly recommend if you want to make a difference in the cancer community volunteering for one of the many different ways you can choose to support.
