Programs: 9th annual ho'olaulea weekend - ama olukai foundation created a foundation village at the event to honor the 2017 beneficiaries for their outstanding contributions towards cultural preservation in hawaii and to further educate the public about hawaiian culture and community. Events included educational events relating to the art of celestial navigation and the hokule'a voyage, and the importance of preserving hawaiian cultural heritage in the honokawai valley of maui. As part of the weekend, the foundation also participated in giveback day to promote education and awareness of hawaiian traditions as a sign of respect, through events such as the taro patch and wetlands restorations.
