Mission: The Altar of Ed Ministry was founded in 1995 after taking into consideration the full concept of Prison Ministry. What was being done? What wasn't being done? When considering the 'WHOLE' of Prison Ministry, we found there are several areas that have been "ignored and/or overlooked." Therefore, building "Relationships that Succeed" not only through self-help programs, but also by helping to, or meeting BASIC NEEDS such as: food, clothing, shelter, employment, transportation, etc. -- Relationships that care, embrace, and stand with one in meeting their needs, we believe are "RELATIONSHIPS THAT SUCCEED."
Programs: The Altar of Ed Ministry's programs include FREE, quarterly seminars on Discipling/Mentoring; Training/Matching of Mentors/Proteges; help with job placement/housing assistance; additional assistance with food, clothing, transportation, furniture, etc.
One/One and Group Biblical Couseling by staff affiliated with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
Neighborhood Safety Net - is a program operated by the Ministry "To reach out to our neighbors that are poor, sick, and in crisis -- with a special emphasis on helping...SENIORS, with no known living family being given special consideration."
The Ministry has a quarterly newsletter, the Breach Repairer News, and is on the Internet with an online interactive Web site that has applications for Mentors/Proteges, as well as an online "Helps" form, and complete information about the Ministry. This site is updated monthly.
