Programs: Educational, support programs and leadership training conferences supported by the foundation, a portion of which is paid to alpha phi intl. Fraternity in grants, which benefits the approximate 180,000 members of the fraternity. Foundation funded programs include emerging leaders institute, a five day program for freshman and sophomores designed to help these women identify their leadership skills and abilities and better define their voices and leadership fellows provides an intensive, career-oriented leadership program.
scholarships -- merit based educational scholarships are awarded to collegiate and alumna students based on academic achievement, organizational and community activity and reference & personal essays. The foundation also awards need based scholarships to collegiates pursuing an undergraduate degree. Approximately 70 students were awarded scholarships
community contributions --made to qualifying 501(c)3 organizations on behalf of alpha phi fraternity's local chapters. All chapters are eligible to apply for grants on behalf of the benefiting organization. Qualifying organizations are aligned with the mission of alpha phi foundation
awards --heart to heart awards are granted to hospitals, educational institutions and research organizations performing work in the area of cardiac care and research. One award was granted. Forget-me-not-hardship grants paid to members of alpha phi fraternity and alumnae who are facing severe financial distress, serious health issues, consequences of natural disasters and urgent family crisis and to collegians who face an interruption of education due to unforseen personal or financial struggles. The grant is designed to provide temporary, short-term, financial assistance for an event or an unforseen circumstance. Ninety one grants awarded.
