Mission: Our mission is to provide sisterhood among women, scholarship, leadership and asian awareness in the university and community. Further, to provide a support group for those in their time of need and to encourage the making of successful women.
Programs: Our organization consists of volunteers on our board of directors, national board and national alumnae board cabinets as well as our active members at universities and alumnae members of our national alumnae association. All positions are voluntary and promote leadership as well as valuable experience pertinent to future career endeavors. Each chapter has a cabinet of positions. The board of directors, national board and national alumnae board meet each fall. Additionally, the national board meets in the spring. Nationally, we hold three meetings per academic school year which consist of back to school retreat, midyear meeting and national convention. During each meeting, members are trained to uphold our purpose and mission. Leadership trainings, guest speakers and networking occur to establish professional connections. Our organization supports scholarship by holding academic and study hours at various campuses. Each member must comply with university academic standards in order to remain an active member of alpha kappa delta phi. The national board, national alumnae board and some individual chapters recognize scholarship by awarding various members. At national convention the chapter with the highest grade point average is awarded with the scholastic excellence award: stanford university. All members of alpha kappa delta phi support philanthropy and individual chapters and are required to participate in a minimum of two services per quarter/semester. This year, chapters held various fundraisers and workshops on campus and in their community, where all philanthropic efforts were donated to the avon breast cancer crusade. Other services include, but are not limited to: supporting other walks, fundraisers and charitable events for other organizations. Lastly, our organization promotes asian awareness in the university and community by holding cultural awareness events and participating in campus clubs/organizations (i. E. Chinese american student association, vietnamese student association, japanese student association, etc. ). Our members strive to uphold our organization's purpose and values and a chapter who has exemplified all of the above is recognized as chapter of the year. Based on all of the information above, our organization has fulfilled its purpose as an exempt organization that uses all funding ensuring we provide sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, service and asian awareness in the university and community through various events and training. We are non-profit and pay insurance premiums to ensure the safety of our members and organization.
