Mission: Alpha, "A Beginning," Inc., founded in 1979, grew out of a few concerned community members that homeless mothers with infants or mothers to be were not adequately being provided for by way of housing and/or other basic necessities. "Alpha" is an acronym for its five main principles: Acceptance, Life, Purpose, Hope & Accomplishment. Alpha's core purpose is in it's Residential program. Comprehensive supportive services and goal setting, that prioritize education, health & self-sufficiency are integrated into the daily setting. Alpha revolves around the value based principle: Treating people the way you would want to be treated.
