Mission: Offering individuals with disabilities the avenues to explore and experience personal growth and achievement through awareness, education, community resources, and personal relationships.
Programs: Group homes:provides residential living services for both male and female adult residents. The staff of each residence provides a structured family atmosphere which is dedicated to teaching all areas of daily living including shopping, menu planning, meal preparation, safety skills, and banking skills. Residential habilitation is an individual skills training program developed to assist residents in acquiring the competence needed to live in the community as independently as possible. Services and support are available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. All individuals attend a vocational/day activity program.
adult day training:provides independent living skills and vocational training. Skills training focuses on building an individuals personal independence skills that will ultimately allow them to integrate into the community. A wide range of skills such as community adjustment, home management, functional academics and social, health and safety skills are taught on a daily basis. Individuals participating in this training are encouraged to learn and practice appropriate social behaviors and self-determination. Serving approximately 92 adults, 240 days per year, monday through friday.
maintenance:2 full-time staff who maintain the buildings and grounds for afi including administrative building, skills-a & skills-b, and the group home.
