Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Treatment
Mission: Nadcp seeks to reduce substance abuse, crime and recidivism by promoting and advocating for the establishment, growth and funding of drug courts and providing for collection and dissemination of information, technical assistance, and mutual support to association members. Since 1994, nadcp has worked tirelessly at the international, national, state and local level to create and enhance drug courts; including adult, juvenile, family, reentry and tribal models; dwi courts, and veterans treatment courts. The award-winning nadcp is the premier national repository, training, and advocacy organization for the drug court model, representing over 27,000 multi-disciplinary justice professionals and community leaders. Nadcp hosts the largest multi-disciplinary annual training conference on substance abuse and crime in the world, topping 4,500 attendees this year. In addition, nadcp hosts the nation's only training convention dedicated to efforts to help justice-involved veterans.
Programs: Ondcp: training initiative was designed to provide training to help educate drug court practitioners on medication assisted treatment, naloxone (narcan), adult best practice standards and to develop a wide range of publications, videos and toolkits. Under this initiative, ndci provided training to 2,500 drug court practitioners.
adult drug court training initiative (adcti): is designed to improve drug court team functioning and to produce more effectives services and help improve drug court program outcomes. The national drug court institute (ndci) under this project provides the following: (1) maintain an adcti webpage which list our training options to include agenda and faqs; (2)conduct training needs assessments with applicants to ensure appropriate course selection; (3) maintain a prioritization process to fulfill all training request ;and (4) evaluate training initiative events to determine customer satisfaction; and (5) maintain the adult mentor court network. Under this initiative, ndci provided training to 10,960 drug court practitioners.
annual conference - nadcp annual training conference included a special veterans track. The conference was held in july in national harbor, maryland and drew over 4,500 attendees from all fifty states and around the world. They represented both the largest conference anywhere on addiction, mental health and the justice system, and the nation's only conference for professionals working in veterans treatment courts. With hundreds of groundbreaking sessions and evidence-based training on best practices for all disciplines represented on the drug court, veterans treatment court, and other problem-solving court teams.
