Mission: Since June of 2015 it has been our mission, to take in stray and abandoned dogs in Yakima County, and find them new responsible, committed and loving homes. We are a 100% volunteer and 100% foster based organization with no brick and mortar facility. All our dogs are treated like family and live in homes with their fosters, as their own pets would. We do not transfer dogs out, preferring to see each dog through the entire process, from rescue, to introducing them to their forever people. We do not ship dogs in, from out of state or country believing that the dogs in our community, should come first. This will be our policy until our local shelters and rescues, are barren and quiet.
Results: We are a relatively small rescue that sees each dog through the entire process, from rescue to adoption. Our numbers may not be as impressive as those who ship in and out, but we feel strongly that it is our duty to be sure each dog we save, is placed safely and responsibly. We select our homes, based on the dog and what it needs. Not by a list of have to haves. We have dogs on houseboats, in the Alaskan Bush, traveling the west coast on a sailboat, seeing the country with a long haul trucker and one even lives on an Alaskan fish processing boat. Unconventional but perfect and happy homes.
