Akash Kuruvilla Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc.

I had the pleasure of knowing Akash Jacob Kuruvilla as a fraternity brother and he was nothing short of the ideal brother. He never made you feel inferior, always was available for advice, genuinely cared about the real person in you as opposed to what society viewed you as, was extremely professional and capable of every task he came across, and so much more. Having direct relations with him showed me he was a great individual but sadly enough having lost him has allowed me to see him through the eyes of a father, mother, sister, girlfriend, other family members and close friends. With just the right balance of purity and mischeif, I have come to realize he was the perfect son, brother, lover, and friend. With the loss of such a great individual, it is only right we keep his legacy alive. His close friends, brothers, and family have made an effort to keep Akash alive through this scholarship so that others in the position he was in his life can achieve greatness with the help of our funds. We want everyone to know about the life and times of Akash while simultaneously being rewarded for keeping their eyes on their goals in times of hardships and reaching out for the "American Dream."

As long as I remember Akash he was a selfless and giving man. He would do everything in his power to help others and help them become better individuals. AKMSF is a testament to his legacy and his efforts can be continued on through this fund.

Akash was the kind of man who people looked up to and wanted to become. One famous line by him, which I will always remember, is: "do not give me a problem, give me a solution." I will always remember that and try to lead my life by the examples that he put before us. I hope that we can see greater visibility of this scholarship so that he may continue to impact the lives of others.

Akash Kuruvilla was a great leader and dedicated individual. His charisma motivated people and his drive set an example for others. This scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for those who demonstrate these qualities. AKMSF is one of many things that keeps his legacy and impact to this world alive.

This organization exemplifies the principles by which Akash lived by. He was a very firm believer in the strengths of unity, diversity, and education. This is truly a great organization!!

Akash was a blunt, strategic, loving person. His dedication to school organizations and the community was inspiring, to say the least. He had a love of diversity and realized the power of bringing groups of people together for a common purpose to help both the individual and group as a whole. He would be happy to know that people are contributing to someone's education in his name.

This scholarship is an excellent example of the man it was created in the honor of. Akash was the type of individual that did as much as he could and them some more. He was always there to help those who were in need and this scholarship is doing the same by carrying on his values. The short time it has been around, the AKMSF, has helped numerous students to achieve their goals and it will continue to do so for years to come.

The man behind this scholarship is one of those rare types of people that you only hope to come across once in your lifetime. While I have never had the opportunity to meet Akash Kuruvilla, his ideology and beliefs are constantly reaching my ears. This is why this fund is so important. Mr. Kuruvilla believed in the "american Dream" as well as the fact that no man (or woman) was beyond redemption. This fund greatly expresses these two believes because it allows those who try to better themselves despite many obstacles. I was personally at the last award ceremony of this fund and the individuals that received funding were extraordinary people. They all had their own personal differences and situations however they all had the common goal of trying to face adversity through persistence. This idea is something I strongly agree with and is why that this fund is definitely one to help grow in the future.

The ERAU Associate Chapter of Sigma Beta Rho became mentors to students who were struggling in school. We mentored them once a week and talked with them about any problems there were having albeit school of home.

After having known Akash Kuruvilla for several years and the amount time and effort he put in to selflessly help others make their lives better, there is no better way to commemorate his life than this scholarship that aims to help others. Although Akash is no longer with us, I am glad to witness his legacy continuing to live on.

Akash Kuruvilla selflessly dedicated a great deal of his life to mentoring and molding young minds. He was truly an inspiration and always encouraged people to follow their dreams. This scholarship honors the passion, nobility, and generosity of a great man. Awarding this scholarship not only commemorates the principals and legacy of Akash, but also continues to foster hard-work, character, and leadership amongst our youth.

My experience with the organization has been nothing but positive. The people who run it are amazing. They truly want nothing more than to help deserving individuals be the best that they can be. I'm sure it would be a dream come true for Akash or anyone to see such a wonderful organization, that helps people reach their goals, established in their name.

This scholarship is a great testament to the life of Akash, he exemplified passion, dedication, and determination in assisting the youth achieve their goals. In continuing with his legacy, this scholarship hopes to reward two deserving applicants who strive for their American Dream.

The AKMSF seeks to materialize the life an honorable man (Akash) in the form a scholarship for two individuals whose integrity, aspirations, and aptitude resonate deeply with his own. Just as Akash was a force for positive change in the world, this scholarship hopes to recognize and empower future generations of Americans toward a similar end. In doing so, the AKMSF committee and its supporters hope to make a financial difference in the lives of select individuals esteemed for their potential as determined by their character.

What's the American dream? Does it still hold in this day and age? Sure, we're so busy in our day to day lives to really notice or consider it much - but the American dream can be found embodied in the lives of many - from young students, to working adults - simply doing the most with what they have to better themselves and the world around them. I support this organization primarily because of the deep impact they create in the lives of those they serve. But secondly because I find the stories of their scholarship recipients inspiring, and I think those are the types of individuals that are not only deserving of support in pursuing their goals - but they're helping keep the American dream alive.

The scholarship is dedicated to a great leader and former colleague. His exemplary attitude and dedication to his work served as an inspiration to all the volunteers running the organization. Once I interacted with the volunteers to understand why they were supporting this cause, I could see how many lives had been affected. Their hard work and dedication in reviewing applications and selecting very promising youth is direct avenue for success. I do not hesitate at all in recommending this great scholarship for any donation they seek and hope to be able to continue making my small donations.
