Air Alliance Houston contributes a great deal of issue expertise and brings a real presence to the environmental community in Houston. From providing a voice to the media, educating kids, hosting Earth Day Houston, and lobbying to improve air quality standards to forming strong coalitions with other groups, AAH works hard to protect public health every day.

Mission: Air Alliance Houston's mission is to reduce the public health impacts from air pollution through research, education and advocacy.
Results: Air Alliance Houston (AAH) is a Texas 501(c)(3) non-profit advocacy organization founded in 1988 that believes everyone has a right to breathe clean air. We use research, education, and advocacy to reduce the disparate public health impacts of air pollution and advance environmental justice in the greater Houston and Harris County area. AAH takes a strong stance against disproportionate exposure to air pollution in overburdened communities of color and lower-income by focusing attention on permitting and other environmental decisions.
Geographic areas served: the Houston region
Programs: – Our AirMail tool which is a free and publicly available tool that scans the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's database for air quality permit applications. – Our Community Air Monitoring Program where we strategically place air quality monitors in areas that we suspect to be impacted by air pollution. This has grown a network of Air Quality Ambassadors, which are community members that we train on air quality knowledge so that they can then help us to recruit for our Air Monitoring Network. – See more of our programs at our website www.airalliancehouston.org!
