Agape has served the Shelby County community for many years. They have taken on this honorable caring role with a lot of love for the varied people living and moving through our area. Fortunately their caring spirits, inner drive and God's blessings have kept them going even in the many challenging times they have faced and overcome. I do not think people are aware of the often challenges they face and keep going because they care. Our community is greatly blessed and appreciative of their great efforts, kindness and wonderful people caring skills. They make you feel welcomed, like a member of their family when you visit.
Agape is a wonderful help to lots of people that really need it. This is a great service with times the way they are. People and families are having a hard time making ends meet. It warms my heart to know that there are lots of children in Shelby County that are Not going hungry because of Agape!!!!!!
Agape is a generous nonprofit that serves Shelby Cty and surrounding areas by helping those in need. The people are always such a blessing to me and others.
Agape's has been a big help to me and my family and the volunteers there are always friendly and are always willing to lend a hand, without this place there are times I don't know what we would have done, thank you.
I have been volunteering with Agape for a little over a year now, and have also been on the receiving end of their benefits. The volunteers/staff are WONDERFUL people with exceptional personalities and people skills. Agape has truly shown others what this type of program should be all about.
The good folks at Agape Distribution are about serving others. They have helped my family many times, and have given me the opportunity to help others in return. This is a unique group of people, and a unique non-profit group!
Im currently interning with Agape Distribution. This is my second internship and I just can't believe how much I am learning. Agape touches the lives of such a wide range of people. The work they do is helping huge amounts of people each and everyday. Baskets and Baskets of food flow out the door every day. Its truely amazing to see. In addition, to providing food assistance to so many people, the staff are truely amazing people to be around. They have heart for what they do and it is seen in their dedication to the people that walk through their door. The staff appear tireless, dispite the burden of an endless work load serving the community in Shelby County. I am honored and inspired each hour that I spend at Agape.
I have volunteered and work at agape for the last 15 years. It is a privilege and an honor to know i can make a difference in someones life. I really enjoy the smiles and the laughter from which i receive everyday. I am truly grateful to work at agape where we can make a difference in someone's life
For the past 12 years, I have greeted and processed people who wish to shop at the Agape Distribution Food Pantry. The food pantry has grown over the 12 years I have volunteered here. Many people appreciate that we have food available to them during these hard economic times. Our food pantry is comprised of: 3,120 registered families, 5,300 registered adults, 1,025 registered seniors, and 9,954 registered children. The number of food orders available to families as of this date (Oct. 17, 2012) is 13,821, representing a 9% increase over last year. This number of food orders represents over 1,000,000 pounds of food used by our food pantry families. Through the food pantry and store available to non profits, Agape Distribution truly lives up to its goal of "Helping the Hurting" in Shelby County and all around the world. God uses us to help people locally and wherever God's work is reached by people shopping with us. We look forward to a busy Thanksgiving and Christmas season, serving Jesus here in Sidney, OH.
A consistent blessing in Shelby County. This orginization is ran well and is ran with compassion for the hurting. Very thankful to the Lord for putting a team like this in Shelby County Ohio.
We are a small non-profit organization and are permitted to purchase many non food products through Agape. They have saved us so much money. Their products are first class and they are the most frindly and accommodating people I have ever met. My Moter and fater-in-law both volunteer there. They are so proud to be a part of helping people in need. Agape and the people who work there are truly a blessing to this community!
Agape Distribution is one of the most unique, most effectual, most impactful charitable organizations I have ever encountered. In difficult times like so many Americans are now experiencing, approximately 35% of our county's residents are registered at Agape to receive food. Not only food, however, but encouragement, acceptance, and dignity. Every day at Agape Distribution, one can personally witness encounters that reaffirm one's faith in humanity and our ability to love and care for one another. For that reason and many others, I consider volunteering at Agape not only a blessing, but an honor and a privilege.
AGAPE Distribution is an amazing organization that serves not only the Shelby County area but also is a part of outreach throughout the world. They've helped thousands of people in this area and with donations and support from those that can help will continue to do things like nutrition education and the moble food pantry that serves the outlying Shelby County areas.

I loved coming in every morning knowing that I was part of something bigger than myself. That I was helping people that really needed help and knew that someone cared about them.
I have pastored for many years at New Life Church in Petersburg, MI and have utilized Agape Distribution's generous supply of goods and services to help meet the needs of our community . Through the years Agape Distribution Center has either donated or provided at extremely low cost everything from chocolates at Easter , to coats for Christmas gifts, to top quality paint brushes. Agape has provided school supplies, and hair care products, and toys worth thousands of dollars, which we have purchased for pennies on the dollar and given away to those who have need. The consistent quality of care and goods and services that flow from Agape Distribution Center has touched literally thousands of people and is an example of how Jesus told us to live, by serving one another.
A great group of people with a heart for helping those less fortunate! They make it easy and not demeaning to those that have need. They truly show that they care!
Where do I begin. There really are no words to describe my thoughts about Agape Distribution, other than God sent. Many times due to various reasons, my family and I have had occasions where we needed help, whether with food or other household items and Agape was there for us. The beautiful thing about Agape is that it's more than just about the food that it provides for thousands of needy people, but the spiritual help that it gives a lost and dying society. Bro. John and his fine staff & volunteers are truly sent from heaven and a wonderful asset & answer to today's needs and problems. May God continue to bless them in every way.
I've always had a positive experience with this organization. As a church administrator, and as someone who purchases items from the "store" that assists with paying utility bills etc. I have had ample contact with Agape Distribution to highly recommend it. Everyone is helpful and courteous. My only constructive criticism would be that sometimes it is too cluttered and price are not easily found. Otherwise I feel this is a top notch organization.
Any trip to Agape Distribution is well worth my time. Friendly people--great prices--quality product--some damaged packaging but product is unharmed--inventory changes frequently--hair care products, office supplies, clothes, cleaning products, candy and more--many people helped both locally and on the mission field. I really enjoy browsing through the Agape warehouse. It is very clean and well organized. The staff is helpful and friendly. And no where can you get such great deals of office supplies and equipment.
Absolutely wonderful. Love going in and getting what our school needs at a VERY good price. We wouldn't be able to afford some of the supplies we get if it wasn't for Agape. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. They seem to love working or volunteering at Agape.
I have visited Agape on several different occasions. The staff is informative, helpful, and very service oriented. The knowledge of products, arrangement of the floor schematics for the various departments, and their friendly service are a real plus for any non profit or profit company. What separates Agape from some of the other agencies is that they have a very candid view of what they are doing. Preparing their distribution center to help meet peoples needs. They do that with excellence and a determination that simply pushes them over the top. I would recommend Agape to; anyone in need, organizations in need of products, and people who would donate time through working at and with Agape. Agape just doesnt say or promise things.
