Mission: The african american credit union coalition focuses on providing: 1) internships to bring more minority presence and participation in credit unions, 2) assisting credit unions in getting started and helping smaller credit unions with growth, and 3) creating opportunities for various credit unions and credit union providers to meet and work with one another.
Programs: Awarded 2 internships to minorities. Expenses covered their salary and travel costs during their summer internships.
assisted various small credit unions by providing mentorship services to assist them with operating issues. Also, provided scholarships and monetary support to promote the credit union movement in african countries. Provided relief for credit union members who suffered losses from hurricanes irma and harvey.
