Causes: International, International Migration & Refugee Issues
Mission: #AfghanEvac brings together organizations with a shared commitment to fulfilling the United States’ duty to Afghan allies and friends.
Results: We've made great progress across our goals: - Thousands of Afghans manifested on flights and out of Afghanistan - More than $1.5M in microgrants distributed through the Afghan Welcome Fund, built in partnership with Globally - Emergency food and medical support to thousands of Afghans still awaiting relocation from Kabul - New US Treasury General Licenses to ensure humanitarian work did not violate sanctions - Exceptions for special populations who weren’t eligible for Operation Allies Welcome but, for one reason or another, were at extraordinarily risk - Unprecedented access to and collaboration with the highest levels of government working on the full scope of relocation through to resettlement operations. Many of our achievements aren't spoken about publicly due to the sensitive nature of the work at hand. Interested parties may visit afghanevac.org/policy to see which priorities have been accomplished.
