Causes: Disaster Aid, Fire Prevention
Mission: The eastern adair county fire and rescue is made up of a group of dedicated personnel that represent the diversity of the community. These individuals work every day of the year to improve the quality of fire service provided to the community. Our mission is to protect the quality of life for present and future generations through interaction with our community, compassionate service and an atmosphere that encourages innovation, professionalism, and diversity.
Programs: We primarily serve the south half of adair county and the towns of brashear and yarrow, missouri. Our service area covers approximately 214 square miles; 1,400 911 addresses; and 4,000 people. We also provide mutual aid to surrounding fire departments that include laplata, novinger and kirksville. We operate out of three fire stations location in the south and east regions of adair county. Currently we have 20 volunteer personnel. Our equipment consists of 3 pumpers, 3 tankers, 3 brush trucks, and 1 utility truck.
