Mission: Acts 4 ministry (acts 4) is a non-denominational, tax exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the needs of families and individuals in financial distress through the collection and distribution of reusable furniture, clothing, and housewares. A waterbury founded and established organization, acts 4 serves greater waterbury and litchfield hills communities. Since incorporation in 2005, the organization has cumulatively provided over 250,000 articles of clothing, furnished over 1,300 residencies, and stocked cabinets with over 45,000 houseware items. Programs: Furniture collaborative program- a full service program dedicated to providing clients comforts of home with furniture and accessories. Each piece of furniture is cleaned and fixed before being delivered. Over 6,500 pieces of furniture were collected and distributed to greater waterbury and litchfield hills homes. We received generous contributions towards continuing the sleep well campaign to provide new bed sets. The elisha leavenworth foundation granted $12,500 for our program toprovide every child a brand-new bed set along with funding the purchase of a newer box truck to support the collection and distribution of these resources.
apparel and houseware program- the acts 4 ministry facility is set in a store environment to instill love, dignity and self-respect into the lives of those the organization serves. This is where individuals in need can select and receive free of charge clothing and housewares twice a year. The target area of service is greater waterbury and litchfield hills. By appointment, the organization provided over 4,000 clients this service, passed out over 4,000 houseware items and participated in community organized events providing over 12,000 units of clothing resources.
