Mission: Access Justice Brooklyn provides high-quality, pro bono legal services and community education to our neighbors in need. Using the collective talents of our dedicated staff and volunteers, we help ensure a more accessible legal system and equitable Brooklyn.

Its small staff and dedicated volunteers have been helping people for over 32 years—saving homes, securing families, and ultimately building the support and foundation for healthier lives. Target demographics: Access Justice Brooklyn provides civil legal services to Brooklyn residents living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Direct beneficiaries per year: more than 12,200 individuals and families. This was made possible through the commitment of over 200 dedicated volunteers who collectively contributed 5,524 hours, valued at $2.5 million, in direct legal services and community education throughout Brooklyn.
Geographic areas served: Access Justice Brooklyn partners with compassionate pro bono attorneys to provide high-quality, civil legal services that help ensure equal access to the legal system.
Programs: Access Justice Brooklyn’s primary referral areas prioritize essential aspects of life, with a focus toward family stability, aging safely and comfortably, personal finances, housing, and freedom of movement.
