As the founder, executive director, and also a monthly donor to Acacia of Hope, I continually work hard to ensure the ministry is not only being run effectively but I am continuously ensuring our focus is always on Jesus in all that we do. Every ministry is designed with an aspect of evangelism. We are not just a nonprofit, we are ministry furthering His kingdom. If you have any questions on our mission, you can contact me at acaciaofhope@ gmail.com
This is a high quality, fiscally responsible and life impacting charity. We are tribe changers and have sponsored girls in the past. Love love love the work that they do!
I love Acacia of Hope! I have always had a positive experience with the founder, Melissa. She is dedicated to the ministry and seeing people empowered and lives changed in Kenya, and throughout Africa. Their new store is a great place to support global artisans and Acacia of Hope. I am so thrilled to partner with them!
Acacia of Hope's impact on our community has been both positive and powerful. Their efforts not only elevate the lives of the people of East Africa, they inspire our local residents and organizations to understand how they can take an active role to benefit the world. Acacia of Hope offers our small community a connection to the larger world. - Jackie Martell, Executive Director, Wapakoneta Area Chamber of Commerce
I have given to Acacia of Hope for years and currently sponsor 3 children. What I love about this nonprofit is how personal it is. We get updates about Acacia of Hope, as well as letters and pictures from the girls we sponsor. Acacia of Hope and their team not only provide basic needs like food and clean water, but also just finished work on a school and church. I'm happy to be a part of this nonprofit and am excited to see what they accomplish in the future.
I was impressed with Acacia's new shop in downtown Wapakoneta. It feels good to give back in a unique way. I am also happy to see Wapakoneta get more diverse options in our small town.
I am in awe of all of the accomplishments that Melissa and her team have her made, especially during COVID-10 pandemic. From building a center to help children to building a church for a village. When I give, she does a wonderful job keeping me involved in the ministry. It is as if I am there myself. I am grateful to know where my donation goes. Keep it up Melissa. You are doing amazing!
Acacia of Hope is a wonderful nonprofit to get involved with! The founder has a passion for Kenya that runs deep! All donations go directly to providing the needs of impoverished children and their families. Acacia is hands-on and provides updates about how needs are being met on a regular basis! If you support them, they will keep you connected. We sponsor a little girl named Joy, and we get updates on her schooling, pictures of her, and even drawings that she made for us! I have never been a part of any other nonprofit that compares to Acacia of Hope!

Acacia of Hope is an amazing organization!! I've known the founder, Melissa, for many years and seen first-hand how much she truly cares for each of the children. I was so excited to become a sponsor for a child because I know the organization is personally involved with the school and community of Kibera Slum. I love how they send personal notes and food to each child, and they allow for me to send notes to my child too. They're very transparent and even send me updates on my child's progress in school. Acacia of Hope is making a meaningful impact in Nairobi, and I love that they are truly being the hands and feet of Jesus!
Its 3 years since i started working with Acacia of hope in the slums of Kibera. Firstly it started as a sponsorship program where they could support with fee payment to the poor children in the slums who could not afford to pay in our school. We have also realized of late that they are attending to other needs that these needy kids are facing example, giving a support to some children with medical conditions and food to the starving households where myself has participated in the distribution. As a residence of Kibera i can attest to it that the Organization's services have brought light and hope to many .
I have been supporting Acacia of Hope for a few years now. What makes this organization different from all of the others that I have seen is that Melissa cares enough to remember who I am! I have never met her but she takes the time to not only care about her organization but the people that support it. Acacia of Hope sends regular updates of what is happening in Nairobi, Kenya and when I receive them I feel like I am getting mail from a friend! Melissa is very passionate about Acacia and the work they are doing in Kenya, she has such a heart for the people there, I believe if she could figure out a way to help every person there, she would! Recently, because of the COVID-19 situation, she raised enough money to feed 172 families in Kibera slum on top of what she is already doing there. Acacia of Hope International is changing the world for many people, they are giving hope to people that had no hope before. If you are going to support a non-profit, this is the one to support, in fact I urge you to do so!
This is an amazing organization that is personally involved with the people and children they serve starting with the president. They’re intentions are truly out of love for the less fortunate. They send us regular updates from the child we sponsor and we also get to be involved by writing and receiving updates from “our” child plus sending other small extras like school supplies, Christmas gifts, etc.
The mission of Acacia of Hope is wonderful. I believe all children should be able to live with clean water, have an education and know their dreams can come true through God."
As a small child I would see commercials on television asking for people to sponsor a child. Other than the fact that I was a child and had no money to sponsor a child, I also did not like the fact that 100% of the money you donated, did not go to the child. I did however love the idea of helping someone, who was less fortunate, some one who was undeserving of the living condition.
Now I am an adult, and when Melissa introduced us to Acacia of Hope, I felt like it was the perfect opportunity. It makes me happy to know that through this organization, children are being fed, given an education, clean water, and most importantly they are being taught about Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
I love being part of Acacia of Hope, and knowing how dedicated they are to children and the families they serve, and that they give 100% of your donations toward the sponsored child.
Acacia of hope is set on changing the lives of those in Kibera Slum, through an education for the children, helping in feeding them, and their families, clean water, and bringing them the word of God. It's rewarding when you see lives touched by your actions. Please join us in touching lives across the world from us.
We are blessed to sponsor a couple children through Acacia of Hope and we love the personal information that we receive on their school progress as well as updated pictures! We have even been able to write personal letters that were delivered by the Director on her visits. This ministry is all about being the hands & feet of Jesus in Kibera Slum (through water filters & food along with education) so that these children can have a brighter future!
It has been my great pleasure to support the work of Acacia of Hope by sponsoring two beautiful girls. One quite young and the other I have followed from grade school and on into High School. To know that in my simple way that I am contributing to a great organization, brings me great joy. Acacia provides so much for these girls and their families. Most important of which is the emphasis on Jesus as our Lord and Savior. But the practical matters, food, clean water an education, takes this Ministry to a whole new level. I have been a Sponsor for the past four years and have received letters, report cards and have had the opportunity to send small gifts to my girls. Last year Sponsors' were given the opportunity to buy shoes for their girls, it had to be my favorite thing so far. I grew up poor and shoes were always an issue. To know my girls have shoes honor's my own experience in life, I know how important shoes are, something we take for granted here, but oh so important in their own way. I would encourage anyone to sponsor or support this great Mission to Africa, they are the real deal through and through.
My husband and I have been so blessed by choosing to sponsor a child. We just started this past year and the blessings it gives both us and the little girl we sponsor are unimaginable! We love the constant updates and communication! Thanks to Melissa for following Gods directions!!
My husband and I have sponsored the same girl since 2015. We have watched her grow stronger physically and academically through photos, videos, newsletters, and hand written letters and crafts. Acacia of Hope is a trustworthy organization who is changing the lives of young children and adults in Africa.
I sponsor a young girl through this organization. I receive regular updated on her progress in school. The sponsorship allows the child to attend school and provide food and clean water. Sponsorship of a child is only one of the many things this great organization provide for those in need in Africa. I highly recommend this nonprofit organization to anyone.
My wife is part of a great expanding mission / nonprofit organization. They have been able to help children learn at school, provide food and clean drinking water to many families.
I have been sponsoring a child since the ministry began. It has been so wonderful to see my little girl turn into a young woman with opportunity. I would recommend anyone who is wanting to make a true impact to give to Acacia.
Acacia is very dear to my heart. The board and Executive Director are very transparent with all the ends and outs of the activities of the ministry. The ministry is not only changing lives but literally saving lives with its varies programs. Donors money is used very strategically so as to make the biggest impact. I, myself sponsor 2 children and also a monthly donor through our tribe changers program.
Melissa, the director of Acacia of Hope never fails to amaze me. She has a bright soul who wants to do more than just assist those in Africa. She pours her whole heart and soul into the individuals in Africa. I have seen Acacia of Hope grow over the years and what Melissa is doing for these individuals is something very special. I love to follow the journey and watch her grow and teach her child the importance of helping those around the world.
My story is simple I am a member of the Mission committee at Harvest Baptist Church and it's been a joy to contribute to Acacia of Hope. It does our hearts great joy to see the good that can come out of a small but Mighty non profit such as Acacia of Hope. And we will continue to support this non profit even more as the years come. We are blessed that our congregation gives wholeheartedly towards this nonprofit.
I have watched this nonprofit grow from one young lady’s idea into a beautiful mission in Africa. They have helped so many people in Africa and spread the word about Jesus while they do it! I am proud to support Acacia of Hope International and I look forward to seeing how far they will go!
