Skip and his wife are so passionate about helping veterans find jobs. The first time I met him, he read over my resume, and asked me what I really wanted out of life. Even though I found a job through another company that helps veterans and spouses get hired; I know if I reached out to him today, he would do his best to find me a job. :)

I have worked with the Able Forces team for a number of years now and they consistently renew my faith in humanity with their selfless work to employ our disabled veterans. They effectively manage resources to ensure the veterans they serve receive the benefit of donations made by the public. But, at the core, the greatest service is that in providing work for disabled veterans they are restoring self sufficiency, respect and confidence.

Great organization. Have known Skip for several yeara and the work and assistance they provide to veterans is outstanding. I have seen veterans in that direction and they have received valuable training and certifications to enable the veterans to obtain employment with the newly received certifications. They are "down-to-earth" people with one agenda... servicing veterans"...

I met the folks at Able Forces last year and have been continuously impressed by their dedication to our wounded veterans. They are smart people with great connections that tirelessly work towards their mission of getting our vets back into the workplace. Whether it's a physical or psychological impairment, Skip matches them with an appropriate group. Through getting work, these amazing warriors find their confidence and sense of worth again. Truly an amazing group of people working on a national level.

Mid 2011 I submitted my retirement packet to the Army. In January of 2012, one of my leaders told me about Able Forces and its mission to exclusively employ Wounded, Ill and Injured Veterans. I learned that its founders Skip Rogers and Joe Cunningham were looking for and Operations Manager and I decided to apply. After a few months of phone calls, emails and an interview, I was blessed with a job offer. It’s now three years later and I couldn’t be happier. Skip and Joe are the “life blood” and the beating heart of Able Forces. Most non-profits I have have reviewed cause me to pose the question “how can this be a non-profit when the founders are making $250k a year”? Skip and Joe’s dedication to taking care of Veterans is second to none and on many occasions the support for Veterans comes right out of their pockets. Able Forces is the only true non-profit I have ever come across. When Able Forces receives a donation, you can “take it to the bank” that every single penny of every single dollar will go to help Veterans in need. Able Forces is an amazing company to be a part of and I am very blessed to be a Team Member supporting the Able Forces mission.

Also, knowing the leadership of AF for many years I'm positive that its doing what's right for our fellow veterans and is being operated in the best, most ethical manner possible. It gives me tremendous joy to see an organization that remains vigilant and dedicated to the women and men of the US Armed Forces. Skip and Kathy Rogers attend Red Cross sponsored Community Joining Forces meeting and network with and offer support to all the organizations that attend these meetings. CJF meetings bring together organizations ( Public and private, Non profits, faith based communities) that provide support and resources for the local military community which includes active duty , reservists, veterans and their families. Skip regularly sends updates of job openings that are then sent through to comunity partners. This service is extremely valuable in helping to get our disabled veterans back to work.

I met my Able Force representative at a local VFW Job Fair in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Their immediate focus was on what they could do for me and how my military experience could open doors to future employment opportunities. I left the job fair knowing they saw me as a person and more importantly they cared about my future. Their representative followed up with me via email and over the next couple of weeks they sent me job listings for open positions being filled in my local area. Once I responded with interest in a particular position, they contacted me by phone to help me highlight my skills and what I could bring to the position. They continued to offer assistance throughout the entire employment process and it was a great comfort knowing I had their support.

Today I have a great job but I could still be unemployed without their help. I can't describe how it feels to be part of a unit and to once again contribute to the safety and security of our great nation. I would like to say a special thanks to Skip Rogers and the other members of the Able Forces team for the work they do supporting our Veterans and what they bring to the table.

Now I share with those Disabled Veterans the Employment and Training resources that Able Forces provide. Skip Rogers, the Executive Director, sends me current listings of job opportunities which I forward to Veterans in my database. The Microsoft program offers Free IT Training and Certification exams which Able Forces brings awareness to for Veterans needing an IT Certification. Able Forces is a wonderful resource for Disabled Veterans to move ahead successfully in their careers and lives.

I have sought to get veterans employment in meaningful fulfilling work over the past 5 years and at times have been very discouraged at so many people talking about doing something without ever actually getting a person a job. Ability One, Skip, has become a friend through long distant communications. I was able to see his testimony before a senate hearing on the issue of Veteran and people with disabilities employment and I was completely impressed, looked up his phone number and found that he was not merely seeking to build his organization but he was willing to share everything that he had learned to help others in areas across the country. He knows what he is attempting to accomplish and the high level of intensity it takes. I know of no other organization that is as effective as Able forces in assisting disabled veterans with developing a life long career

I was lucky enough to have met Mr. Rogers and his staff over the past year. I've been to their Front Royal headquarters and have seen the fantastic facilities they have created in order to serve the wounded warriors in the D.C. area. Everyone has been passionate about taking care of the Soldier and setting them up for success by assisting them in transitioning into the civilian environment. I am in the wounded warrior project but I'm still in the transitional phase of processing out. Mr. Rogers and his wife personally visited me and educated me on what they had to offer and how I could be integrated into their program. My wife and I were invited to meet the staff of Able Forces Inc and found a bunch of people who cared for nothing less than to take care of injured veterans.

To the person I was impressed with their passion and commitment to take care of wounded warriors. To me it seems that they have written passion and commitment into their business model and have kept that emphasis as their top priority in their service to the Soldier. To understand how dedicated this team is all you have to do is visit them one time.

Able Forces goes far beyond any organization that I have worked with in specifically helping these Veterans find the right kind of employment, using their skills attained while in the military, their interest, their aptitude… for many of these soldiers they have had different kinds of limitations placed on their abilities but rather than focus on disabilities we help them to use their abilities and continue to move forward. I have found Able Forces to be an extremely professional and well run organization. They go above and beyond to get wounded warriors placed into meaningful jobs. By meaningful, I mean jobs that pay well, have room for professional growth, and that build on the wounded warriors military experience. Whenever I have referred a veteran to Able Forces they always promptly answer with a 'what can we do to help' response. Skip and his team are great to work with. They are by far one of the better non-profit organiziations serving veterans.

My experience with Able Forces has been life-changing. I've never met a group of people so dedicated to helping our veterans. The main role Able Forces plays is to find employment for veterans who have come back from combat wounded. In some cases the vets can no longer do the job they were originally trained in due to physical or mental disabilities. Able Forces helps teach them new and relevant skills in their training facilities and then matches them up with an employer. Beyond the mission of training and employment, the Able Forces staff is highly involved with veteran organizations and make the most of community outreach. They can be found at motorcycle rallies, job fairs, charity races, concert fundraisers and more. Their motto "Focusing on the warriors, not just the wounds" could not be more indicative of their overall attitude. Their passion for serving veterans is as unwavering as the veterans who served our country.
