Programs: Transportation & infrastructure:a better city completed further refinement of an all at-grade alternative for replacement of the i-90 viaduct and redesign of rail, pedestrian and bicycle facilities adjacent to the allston interchange. A better city also managed the seaport leadership group in south boston. The group is making significant progress in unifying the voice of the business community in the seaport area and advancing important transportation projects for this important economic center. And, a better city successfully lobbied the mbta to include automatic train operations into its new red and orange line vehicle overhaul plans.

land use & development:a better city led the process to create a greenway business improvement district (bid), only the 2nd bid in boston and sixth active bid in the commonwealth of massachusetts. It will establish a long-term sustainable funding structure for the rose kennedy greenway that will protect and enhance the park for the years ahead. Additionally, a better city completed and submitted two conceptual urban design proposals for a pedestrian plan in boston's chinatown neighborhood to the boston transportation department. Finally, the public improvement commission approved an amendment to the city's sidewalk caf regulations that would enable food service across the public way - a better city recommended this amendment to the city.

environment & energy:a better city finalized its first-ever environment & energy policy agenda in 2017 in its role as facilitator of the boston green ribbon commission's commercial real estate working group (crewg) and three publications were released in 2017 benefiting business stakeholders. A better city completed research in support of the new mbta unified payment system for fare collections. Additionally, a better city worked with its members to further the collaborative solar power purchase agreement started in 2016. And, the challenge for sustainability was rebranded as the sustainable buildings initiative.
