92 for 22 is an amazing non-profit to raise awareness for Veterans Suicide. It is an alarming rate of Veterans on Active Duty/Reserve/and those that are Veterans who are committing suicide. It's great to be able to come together and have camaraderie with other Veterans at the events. As a Veteran myself I as a volunteer have been able to go and raise support/awareness at the West Michigan Truck Show on June 13-14, 2025, helping a veteran that is in need for assistance at his home (cleaning up yard, yard work, painting, staining, putting in a deck, etc). Also, I have been able to go with other veterans as well as being able to go to a Basketball game together in Grand Rapids. It makes me not isolated, but together as Brothers and Sisters in Arms.

92 for 22 is a non profit very dear to my heart. My son, Sergeant Patrick Werme, died by suicide on July 3, 2018. Following his death, we learned of 92 for 22 as a resource for Veterans here is Southwest Michigan.
Our first event with 92 for 22 was September 22, 2018, following Patrick's death. His family and friends gathered in Allendale alongside 92 for 22 and walked to Grand Rapids where we all shared a meal together.
Since then we continue to participate in their walks to raise awareness about Veteran Suicide and to raise funds to help Veterans in need of support. My son in law, Brad Koetsier, has developed a fundraiser at his gym, Coachman, to support 92 for 22. This annual event on Veteran's Day each year, Coachman holds a day of workouts at his gym and all proceeds go to 92 for 22 for the care and support of Veterans. Last year, Coachman raised over $23,000 for 92 for 22 to help support Veterans here is Southwest Michigan.
92 for 22 offers assistance and support to Veterans and their families. By raising awareness to the crisis of Veteran suicide and the difficulties Veterans experience, 92 for 22 helps solve problems. This remarkable organization is a worthwhile non profit to help end Veteran suicide. Mary Connors Werme, Mother.

92 for 22 is an incredible nonprofit that provides vital support to veterans and their families. They recently assisted us with covering the cost of mobility support training for a service dog named Baron, who will become a game-changer for my husband, Andrew.

My husband, Andrew, is a Army veteran who sustained injuries during his deployment to Afghanistan. He struggles with Acquired Cerebellar Ataxia, which affects his balance, walking, and causes vertigo, among many other things. The addition of Baron, paired with the mobility and task training, will significantly improve Andrew's quality of life, providing not just physical support but emotional comfort as well.

The staff at 92 for 22 were incredibly understanding, compassionate, and dedicated to making a difference. They went above and beyond to ensure that Andrew received the support he needs to regain some independence and confidence in his daily life.

It's clear that 92 for 22 truly understands the challenges that veterans face, and their work has made a profound impact on our family. We are deeply grateful for their assistance, and I would highly recommend them to any veteran in need of support!

I'm a 73 year old veteran and broke a supporting bridge tooth. Going though cancer treatment last year used up all my savings. Dental costs have tripled in the last few years. I was under alot of stress over costs. 92 for 22 was a Godsend. They covered the balance of a bridge replacement above what I saved. They are truly a blessed organization helping Michigan veterans in need.

92 for 22 was a saving grace for a time in need. I am the spouse of an Army veteran with over 10 years of service. My husband has been having a hard in civilian life overall since his discharge. This past year has been exceptionally tough for us financially, made worse when a PTSD related episode resulted in him losing his job in February. My husband’s mental health really took a toll so I urged him to finally initiate treatment and seek resources through the VA. We all know the process can be intense and long, which made it difficult for him to seek out new employment while addressing his service related issues. I am a registered nurse, trying to keep us afloat in the meantime, but we fell behind on his car payment pretty quickly. We reached out to 92 to 22 a few weeks before the car was up for repossession and they were very quick to respond. Rick kept clear and concise communication with my husband as they worked something out. He not only made the process seamless, but took the time to discuss our bank statements with us personally to get an idea of the trouble we were in. It only took about a week to gather up some information from us and make a decision. We were approved to catch up on all late payments and have his vehicle payments made through July, which gives us some time to come up with the following months’ payments. I’m not sure what we would’ve done without the work of 92 for 22 and the generosity of people who donate! We are SO thankful for this organization and can stay focused on my husband’s service related issues and treatment!

92 for 22 showed up for this Marine in her time of need! I can’t thank them enough for helping fund the mold remediation in the basement of my home. The process was simple and quick! I will definitely be giving back to them as soon as I am able. The organization is a true blessing!

I am a war veteran out of the military, United States Marine Corps. I have substantially screwed up my back somehow someway. I have a young child age 4 and a teenage daughter. I went in for routine outpatient back surgery to try to fix some of my issues and it turned into my worst nightmare. 14 days later had to be opened up again and spent three days in the hospital because of a spinal cord fluid leak where they ended up, taking out some of my joints, opening my spine and a bunch of other things days after that I had another spinal fluid leak that caused me to get a lumbar drain and spent eight days in the hospital. This group do not know where I would be without the generous people with this nonprofit. They help me to make over five figures of medical bills, more manageable. I cannot think them enough. They’re just are no words to describe the weight that have been lifted off of me because of their generosity and time. I’m still in physical therapy three times a week and on way too many meds and spending a lot of time in bed right now, but I’m hoping that I’m on the mend.
Thank you doesn’t seem like enough so I will say if I’m ever in a position to be able to donate I would not hesitate to donate to your organization! You’ve changed my life

Hi Everyone,

We are Travis and Shayla and here is our story, 92 for 22 helped my husband and our family our greatly past year. My husband served 8 years in the USMC and has been having a hard time finding his place in the civilian world. Last year 2023, hit our family really hard. We had a medical emergency happen in January that resulted in needing EMS. They showed up and were not able to use our front or rear decks to get in the house with a back board. During the summer we reached out to see if 92 for 22 could help in any way.

Our decks were falling apart, steps missing, holes, railing hanging off, and filled with carpenter bees. We had only been in our home for 1.5 yrs at this point. We didn't have the funds to get this type of project completed. My husband reached out to 92 for 22 asking for help because we were financially struggling.

We had 3 kids at the time and my husband took a huge paycut when he took a new job. He had a PTSD episode at his previous employment that resulted in a need for a chnage of pace. His mental health is far more important and he has come a long way since then.

By October we were informed that 92 for 22 had everything cleared for both decks! We had not expected that at all, 92 for 22 was a huge blessing on our family. Our kids are safe to use the stairs and play on the decks!

Having 92 for 22 help us out with this project allowed my husband to not have to stress or worry about something happening. He is in such a better place mentally now and has been able to enjoy our home. We can enjoy our decks with lots of family time, grilling, and having coffee while watching the day.

* Life update since Oct 2013, we now have 4 kids as of Jan 2024. Let me tell you it has been wonderful being able to enjoy of decks this year. I'm not worried that my kids are going to fall in the hole on the top deck. I don't have to worry that they are doing to fall through the stairs either!

Much love from our family!

Travis and Shayla

From my perspective, the bottom line is that this organization is a transparent group of volunteers. In an emergency, responding quickly with meaningfully applied funding makes all the difference. This organization sets the bar very high, and I am proud to support it.

92 for 22 is a great organization. They have been extremely a great part of my life. After getting back from being injured I was at a very low part of my life. I then got in touch with 92 for 22 and started doing walks and getting back to my old self mentally. After years trying to get a service dog this organization help point in a direction where I later got my service dog Barrett. Around Christmas time Barrett jumped up on my porch and broke his back leg in a few places and needed surgery right away which the costs were around 6 thousand dollars which being a single dad and Christmas close by put a lot of stress on me. I had to do what I told myself I would never do and ask for financial help. 92 for 22 with the whole process made it easy and very quick to help me with no questions ask or made me feel like a failure. This organization helps vets more than they know not only financially but just being there and having things like walks to do to help mental awareness of vets.

I have personally seen 92 for 22 help and change lives in many ways as my husband is part of the board. To see the help many receive in hardships has been amazing knowing you are changing lives for the better. Being there to assist those in dark places get into a better spot mentally. Getting the word to the community has been awesome as they may know someone in need or need help mentally and we are there able to assist in anyway we can. I hope 92 for 22 can continue grow and help many more in future.

As a board member of 92 for 22, I am deeply honored to be part of an organization that stands as a beacon of hope and support for veterans. Our mission, to raise awareness and combat the tragic reality of veteran suicide, is not just a statement—it's a commitment we live by every day. The dedication of our team, the generosity of our sponsors, and the courage of the veterans we assist, all intertwine to create a powerful force for change.

Our initiatives, such as the 92 Mile Walk, are not just events; they are lifelines that connect veterans to a community that cares deeply about their well-being. The impact of our work is evident in the lives we've touched, the conversations we've sparked, and the changes we've inspired in how veteran mental health is addressed.

The transparency and stewardship with which we manage our resources reflect our deep respect for every donation and volunteer hour received. We ensure that the funds raised go directly towards programs and resources that make a tangible difference. It's heartening to see our efforts recognized by our community and supporters, who trust us to be the custodians of their goodwill.

Our quarterly newsletter is a testament to the ongoing dialogue we maintain with our supporters, keeping them informed and engaged with our mission. It's a privilege to witness the collective efforts of individuals from all walks of life coming together to support a cause that is critical to our nation's fabric.

As we look to the future, we are filled with optimism. Our goals are ambitious, but with the continued support of our community and the unyielding spirit of our team, we are confident in our ability to make a lasting impact. The journey is long, but every step taken is a step towards hope, healing, and honor for our veterans.
