Programs: At its heart, the 16 tech innovation district is simultaneously a vision, a part of a broader strategy, and a place. The vision is one of momentum, driving central indiana to the level of global leader through talent attraction, development, and retention. The strategy rests on the specific design and creation of an innovation district of intentional inclusiveness designed to attract the best and brightest to indianapolis. The place is a new urban development in downtown indianapolis structured purposefully to compel innovation through the collision of high-talent individuals from multiple sectors. 16 tech's major outcomes will be generated through the co-location of indiana's advanced industries: life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and tech in all its forms. 16 tech provides a dedicated place for both start-ups and mature companies to create and innovate. The co-location of university resources, research facilities, and corporate assets will be supported with wrap-around quality-of-life services encouraging a live, work, play, and learn environment. This design will not only attract the best and brightest in each industry, but, more importantly, will provide thought leaders and entrepreneurs across the technology spectrum with the opportunity to meet, collaborate and accelerate innovation. In the first ten years, 16 tech is expected to generate more than 2,600 jobs of all skill levels. This provides opportunities both to recruit world-class talent and also to retain recent university graduates in indianapolis. Through job training and education, we also have the opportunity to upskill residents in the neighborhoods surrounding the 16 tech innovation district for careers close to home. 16 tech cc, has met a number of development milestones to date and with more on the horizon in the next two to six months.
