Mission: Avalon Center works to end domestic and sexual violence by breaking the cycle of abuse through prevention, education, shelter and support services in the greater Williamsburg and Middle Peninsula communities.
Results: Last year, Avalon provided services to over 1,500 survivors of sexual and domestic violence and answered over 1,200 help line calls.
Target demographics: those experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1,500 survivors (men, women, and children) of sexual and domestic violence with shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, hospital accompaniment; providing transportation and other necessary resources.
Geographic areas served: the greater Williamsburg and Middle Peninsula communities
Programs: by offering emergency shelter and housing, counseling, tools for safety, self-sufficiency, and empowerment. Avalon works to break the cycle of abuse with prevention education to help create a positive future.
