I have volunteered and been a leader with SWEMS since it started in 2015. We are a 100% volunteer agency and I am always amazed at how many community minded people are in our town willing to spend time to help their community. Our members are willing to spend hundreds of hours in training to become EMTs and drivers and then donate their time to respond to emergencies. What is even more impressive is the fact that our volunteers have become a family, spending time and helping each other both inside and outside of the agency.

Causes: Emergency Medical Services & Transport, Health
Mission: The members of Springwater Wayland EMS seek to serve every member in our community and their visitors by providing a safe and swift response to 911 medical emergencies with professional care of the sick and injured, as well as to enhance the quality of living within our community by promoting wellness and safety through education. We aim to provide our volunteers with educational, leadership and service opportunities which are character building, increase self-confidence, and which prepare them for future service in their family and community. In fulfilling our mission, we incorporate the values of accountability, integrity, leadership, and service.
Target demographics: sick and injured members of our community
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 400 patients and trained over 125 people in CPR.
Geographic areas served: Wayland, NY
Programs: Transport those involved in medical emergencies to hospitals and admister emergency care.
