Mission: Our MISSION is to improve food security through equitable access to good nutrition and the resources that support health and well-being. Our VISION is nourishing food and good health for everyone, every day.
Programs: The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is the largest organization alleviating hunger in western and central Virginia, serving 25 counties and 8 cities in communities over 12,000 square miles. We work hand-in-hand with hundreds of partners to solve hunger and to address the many companion health problems made worse by chronic undernutrition. The Food Bank secures donations, safely stores food in our four warehouses (Verona, Winchester, Charlottesville, Lynchburg), and distributes food to our partners (pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and program sites), who provide nutritious food to our community members living with food insecurity.
