Programs: Venice pride sign lighting & block party: venice pride works each year to organize a block party that is free, open to the public, and as inclusive as possible. The venice pride sign lighting & block party is an opportunity for the lgbtq community and its allies to come together in a safe, accepting environment that is educational and celebratory. Numerous nonprofit pride partners, some with little to no marketing budgets, are able to provide vital information to the community at large on topics ranging from hiv/aids prevention, equal rights, and healthcare. The second annual event attracted over 2,000 attendees from across southern california and beyond including actress lori petty who turned out to light the venice pride sign rainbow colors.

venice pride outreach & education: on june 1, 2017 venice pride unveiled the venice pride flag lifeguard tower, a temporary public art project transforming the tower into the colors of the rainbow pride flag. The project was an effort to promote equality and establish a safe place for the lgbt community on the beach. In september 2017, the temporary public art project was designated a permanent public art project. The tower quickly became a hit on social media and it is estimated that the tower has been seen or experienced by over 5,000,000 people in 2017.

venice pride historical preservation: in may 2016, roosterfish, the last dedicated community gathering place for the lgbtq community in west los angeles shuttered. Venice pride works to preserve and support reclamation of lgbtq community spaces. In 2017, venice pride worked to reclaim the roosterfish for the gay community through a series of social events (roosterfish revived and roosterfish: back from the dead).

Welcome To Venice Pride Out In Venice, California! Today I had the opportunity to interview Sister Caryn Soul who is from the Los Angeles Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence which is a group that raises money for various non-profit organizations.
