Mission: The organization's mission is to be a catalyst in drowning prevention by addressing and supporting drowning prevention efforts for persons of all ages and drowning risks of all types of bodies of water. As a short-term goal, the ndpa is placing emphasis on research, awareness, and policy changes to impact the incidence of toddler drowning in swimming pools.
Programs: The ndpa holds an annual national drowning prevention symposium to educate parents, professionals, and others who are involved in drowning prevention. The symposium showcases best practices in drowning prevention programs, strategies & products so that individuals and organizations from across the nation can work together to maximize their efforts to prevent injuries and deaths due to drowning. The ndpa also maintains a comprehensive website offering drowning prevention information.
