Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Our mission is to integrate cutting-edge technology with a wide range of support services to empower veterans. Through the Valor-Guard Initiative and our extensive resources, we aim to provide a holistic approach to veteran transition. Our focus is on proactive support for every veteran's journey, emphasizing mental health, suicide prevention, and community reintegration, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to their success and well-being.
Results: Initial Services HATSOFF was formally incorporated in September of 2022 as Honoring All The Sacrifices, a domestic nonprofit corporation in Michigan. The inaugural services, based on the cost effective and self-sustaining PCA Long Term Care Model, are accessible within 150 miles of any VA medical center and include: Prior to Crisis • Direct Outreach to transitioning service members within 30 days of post service separation. • Peer to Peer Support through a network of veteran mentors in connection with the mission continues organization. • Problem Solving Partnerships through the Michigan Department of Veterans Affairs, the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, the John Dingell Veteran Affairs Medical Center, the LTC S. Kettles Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and the VetBiz Flint Outreach Center. Through these partnerships, HATSOFF was certified as a Michigan Veteran Connector Organization. HATSOFF also was seated in the transitioning service member workgroup for the State and placed in Priority Group 2 for the Michigan Governor’s Challenge. Current Crisis • Semi-Permanent Housing through 16 residential houses in the city of Detroit, and 6 duplex dwelling in the city of Flint • Emergency Repair Services in collaboration with the Carpenters Local Union 1234, and the Pipefitters Local 636 • Barrier Free Emergency Support Housing through two-to-three-night hotel vouchers program. The Hero Harbor Program After Crisis • 500 yearly digital skills scholarships through our partnership with the Grow With Google Program. Scholarships are in the areas of Project Management, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing & E-commerce, Cybersecurity, IT Support, IT Automation With Python, Business Intelligence, and Advanced Data Analytics • Financial Literacy & Basic Legal Composition Classes • Legal Aid Services for veterans that are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
