Mission: Camphill is an international movement of life-sharing communities designed to meet the needs of children, adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities. There are over 100 Camphill communities worldwide, ten of which are in North America. Camphill focuses on the abilities of each person, not the disabilities. Individuals with developmental disabilities live and work together with career volunteer coworkers in extended family settings. The Camphill Foundation was founded in 1966 to address the needs of the North American communities. It currently provides direct support to the communities in the areas of human needs, educational and cultural needs, renovations and infrastructure improvements, financial aid and special projects. All funding for the Camphill Foundation is from individuals, foundations and corporations.
