My son was diagnosed with Leukemia May of 2009. We were told of this group by friends whose son also had Leukemia. Our first meeting, we were welcomed and made to feel at home! It is comforting to know that other families have gone through the same struggles and have come through them stronger than before. I am thankful and appreciative for all of the hard work the volunteers and organizers of Children's Cancer Community put into their roles!

When your child is diagnosed with Cancer you feel like you are on island that no one has been to or knows how to find. With the help of the Children's Cancer Community our family realized we weren't alone. This group provided activities for the whole family. We didn't have to worry about people staring at us or if the event would be too expensive for our budget, they were there to help. The camaraderie that we shared during the monthly meetings was healing for everyone in our family. A child's catastrophic illness within a family effects each member and each member of our family was acknowledged. Thank for fond memories during a dark time.

We are grateful to the Children's Cancer Community, and their wonderful volunteers, for all the support that they have provided to our entire family during my son's cancer treatment, and beyond.

Only tears can explain how enriching life has been having the support of cancer patients and families going through our pains, our sorrows, and of course our joys together! Sometimes we just shared time doing fun things; sometimes we cried together; sometimes we laughed; sometimes we expressed ourselves through arts and crafts projects. 15 years later, I can say, these are my "friends for life"! I pray that new families and volunteers find value in this same type of "extended family" experience that we had. Many Blessings, Sharon

I started volunteering with Childerns Cancer Community in 2009. It's a great organization, full of dedicated and amazing people, who really help out the childern and their families during a difficult time. They provide support, hope and help when they need it most.

What a blessing this group is to families who are experiencing childhood cancer. The kids AND the parents have somewhere to turn, where they can be with people who "get it." It is very very scary to be a child with cancer. It is very very scary to be a parent with a child who has cancer. Childrens Cancer Community helps them cope. I appreciate that Childrens Cancer Community has volunteer opportunities for non healthcare professionals like me. I enjoy helping at their events.

I have been involved with Children's Cancer Community for a little over a year. The hope and courage this group provides to all of the family members is truly heart warming!
