Nonprofit Overview
Mission: Tidewater Search and Rescue Groups (TSAR) mission is and always will be to provide trained personnel, who effectively manage, support, and sustain search and rescue operations when requested. This is accomplished through specialized training, constancy of purpose and continuous improvement.
Target demographics: find lost or missing people in urban, rural, wilderness, or disaster environments.
Geographic areas served: Hampton Roads, Virginia
Programs: search, rescue and recovery operations. TSAR provides community outreach by working closely with the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts, as well as other youth groups in our community. TSAR also provides valuable lifesaving instruction in search and rescue strategy, techniques, and management to local law enforcement, fire/rescue, park rangers, and other search and rescue groups throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
