They help with Lost and Found animals and have a community forum that brings awareness and helps animals
They have rescued for many years. We remember them from their animal group called Rutherford County Animal Group and other animal groups on Facebook. When many animals were in danger of euthanasia, they have made it possible by finding fosters or working with shelters or rescues to procure the save.
A long time donor (since 2017), I was eventually 'recruited' and am now a board member so my review may be a bit biased, but from my experience Jodi gets the most out of the resources donated and cares deeply for each animal that has been saved and blessed to go through the care and love they receive at Dove Road. She works with placing animals to ensure that they will be loved and cared for in their new home.
I meet Jodi and Dove Road Sanctuary after adopting my 2 year old from PAWS and looking for another to join our family.
Jodi was the best and so supportive thru selection of my baby Malia thru her first year. This rescue has been the best and the before and after support after adoption is wonderful. You just don't get a kitten / cat here and say goodbye. Nope you're now family and they love to hear about the one you selected and offer support along the way when needed. She loves to hear all the follow up stories and listens with so much pride as you have in your own baby.
Jody Beskini is a true hero for animals! When I first started transporting for Rutherford County Cat Rescue, Jody was happy to answer my questions about cat rescue work. She gave me excellent advice and I am very grateful to her!
I met Jody nearly 10 years ago. I have been involved with Animal Rescues and fostering for over 30 years. Every time I found a stray dog or cat, Jody was my first call. Over the years we became friends. I have never met a more knowledgeable and truly dedicated woman. The animals truly come first. She will feed her animals and go hungry if necessary. I have moved back up north and continue to follow Jody and her work. I still reach out to her with questions, and she always responds. I wish I could donate more than I do because I know if it’s going to anything Jody is involved in, it’s worth it
Dove Road is truly a great rescues and deserves more community attention. Jodi devotes herself to every animal she takes in and makes sure they are adopted into homes that fit their individual needs. If an animal has to stay in sanctuary for medical or behavioral reasons, they receive excellent care and attention. And she has taken on some very complicated cases, which others may not have.
I have been on-site several times and have transported cats. I'm very impressed with the way land and building modifications are coming along. It is definitely all about the animals at Dove Road.
Previous Stories
Dove Road helped me with a litter of kittens that somebody had found living under a porch. With other groups, I have ended up paying for food, litter, and some supplies for fosters on my own but DR did an excellent job making sure I did not need for anything until the kittens were able to leave my care. They do a lot for animals in out local community.
I have volunteered in rescue for over 20 years. The last 5 being here in T.N. I have had the pleasure of networking with Jodi over the past years. Whether it was finding resources for someone in need of placing their fur baby, help with answering questions about how to help an animal, How to make a warm home for feral cats for winter safety or something as simple as what items need to be donatied for the current need in our community. I have contacted her on many occasions for advice and help. Jodi puts her whole heart, soul, and love into all animals. She is a blessing to them all and to our community.
This nonprofit deserves every hit of recognition it can get. Jody has both a heart for the animals and the humans that love them. She not only cares for many animals herself but Jody mentors and teaches other fosters to do the same. I highly recommend Dove Road and its director Jody Beskini.
Dove Road Sanctuary has and continues to educate, help, foster and rehabilitate the animals in our community (Rutherford Co) TN, This non-profit has helped so many unfortunate animals facing Euthanasia by no fault of their own. This facility helps very sick animals, elderly and ones deemed unsuitable for adoption. Jody, the owner pours her love into this program with very little financial support from our community. I so wish there would come a time where her nonprofit gains the support both monetarily and supply wise within the community to raise awareness of just how important these rescues are and the importance of their existence. Even though her rescue is not commercially advertised, she continues to beat the odds and provides medical attention, food, safe shelter and a love some or most have never known. Jody, continues to do so, by herself. She has no employees helping her. I, personally have known Jody for many years and have dealt with her on several occasions from my own felines. She has always been informative and helpful. My longest wish for Jody and her rescue is that she will continue to follow her dreams of this work. She can only survive and succeed with donations, grants, wishlist items and supplies. Dove Road Sanctuary ❤️
My experience with Dove road sanctuary and safe Haven is a very unique story ,a little over a year ago, my boyfriend and i had 39 cats living inside our trailer, all but 2 came from 2 feral cats outside, they would have kittens under our trailer and my boyfriend Barry would crawl under and grab them as soon as he could to prevent them from becoming feral too, before we knew it we had all these cats and no one wanted them, so we were stuck with them, it took us almost 2 years to trap the mamas to get them spayed, with that done , no more kittens, but Barry took very good care of the cats and did all the maintenance that came with them, all of our cats were very happy UNTIL, Barry started getting sick and having to be in the hospital, they found his heart was only working at 15%, thats when the problems started, i could not care for 39 cats on my own, my health wouldnt permit it, i am on oxygen and limited to what i could do, i called everyone looking for help with the cats, no one would take them, until finally one of the animal shelters called Jody and Jody called me, i explained my situation to her and she agreed to help, she was a GODSENT to me, without her help i dont know what i would have done, not to mention, my trailer had became very nasty, with me not able to clean 9 cat boxes 3 times a day, like Barry did, it got to where they were going outside the boxes, i have to tell you, i was very ashamed and embarrassed by this, it stunk so bad, i couldn't stand it, i tried to keep up with the work but i just couldn't do it on my own, so Jody went beyond the call of duty and asked a couple volunteers to come help me out, which they did, these ladies are awesome, they come all the way to Jamestown to help me, meanwhile Barry was getting sicker and not expected to live and he passed away last May and i had to move because i couldn't afford to live there any longer on my own, the ladies did a lot of HARD work cleaning and scraping floors that were in terrible condition and in the process, they were loading up cats a couple to a few at a time, til they got them all, except 2 that i kept, like i said, these ladies are AWESOME and i know Jody loves all the animals that come to her and she gives them the very best care and gets them forever homes as fast as she can, I cant say enough good things about this organization, I dont have a lot of money but i do donate what i can to this sanctuary and i will continue doing what i can for it, its a very worthy cause and Jody and these animals deserve every penny she can get, i will be doing a fundraiser for my birthday in august for her on facebook , i did this last year too, every dollar counts and i will do my part to help, and i ask all of you to help if you can also, just a few dollars can make a difference, thank you again Jody, Helen and Ida, god bless you all and keep doing what you are doing, you are making a difference in this world
When my husband and I moved to Rutherford County, we were overrun with feral cats. I had no idea where to turn for help. We managed to get several of them fixed but it was a never ending battle. Finally in early 2015 a lady referred me to someone who referred me to Dove Road Sanctuary/Rutherford County Animal Rescue who sent help my way. They picked up Mama's and kittens we already had in garage and took care of them from there. They also brought traps and trapped more. They ended up bringing five ferals back to me. I only have two left outside although I do still have several inside that my husband and I had fixed. My husband passed away that year. I don't know what I would have done without the help from Dove Road. I've not been able to volunteer since I am disabled but have made some small donations along the way. Wish I could do more as I am so grateful for their help. I know they have helped many more people and cats. We need more Dove Roads.
Being the owner and director of an animal rescue myself, and actually having the pleasure of personally visiting Dove Road Animal Sanctuary, I can truly say that it is my belief that Jody Beskini. Manages a wonderful and safe place for multi-species animals. She is a philanthropist with a heart of gold and a never-ending supply of energy. It is quite apparent that the animals come first and foremost. I would be honored to work in conjunction with Dove Road sanctuary at any point. If an animal is in need, I have personally witnessed that Jody will roll her sleeves up and jump right in to help.
This is a wonderful “never give up” animal rescue non for profit organization. It is awe inspiring to know and share in the rescue and rehabilitation they are involved in. They help all animals and care for the mistreated, abused, throw away, newborns without a mama, abandoned and so much more. I will donate, pray, and be involved with this organization, Dove Road Sanctuary as long as I can. I am, Maryannwells@gmail.com
Dove Road Sanctuary And Safe Haven helped me get my little Oliver out of the shelter. The shelter would only release him to a rescue, so they helped me find a rescue to get him out and the medical care he needed. I will forever be grateful for Dove Road Sanctuary.
As the director of a small pet rescue, I was contacted about a young Great Dane/Lab male who had spent his short life tied to a tree and was becoming aggressive. Jody, at Dove Road Sanctuary and Safe Haven, is very skilled at working with dogs who have issues and she agreed to take him for a week to assess him and work on some behavior modification. A week later, he went, without incident, into a foster home with a smaller dog in residence. Jody provided us with a comprehensive written assessment, as well as suggestions for continued behavior modification. We were very pleased with her professionalism as well as her abilities and have recommended her to others.
Jody is one of the most passionate advocates of animal rescue in our community. She not only operates a beautiful rescue sanctuary, she also works closely with our local animal shelter (Rutherford County PAWS) sending out pictures & info on social media about each animal needing immediate placement with other local rescue groups. It amazes me how tirelessly Jody works to try to save & place each animal in a safe environment.
Dove road is true to their cause and saves thousands of animals. Even the hard cases like Hank. Hank is a good doggie who needs a special home with lots of one on one attention. Dove road took him on and has never given up on him even after years of being at their facility. Wonderful place for any animals!
They are the branch that started Rutherford County Animal Group. All you have to do is look at their Facebook page pictures to see some of their results.
