Mission: Harmony Farms was created for the sole purpose of providing safe therapeutic equine activities to disabled individuals. Therapeutic riding has been recognized for more than fifty years as being of significant physical & emotional benefit. The horse provides movement, warmth, stimulation & motivation to the rider, helping them to reach a higher potential and to build confidence & self-esteem. This development in an individual helps with social interaction and enhances their integration into the general community. We handle physical, mental & emotional disabilities. We are members of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, (PATH Intl). There are 800 member centers around the world. PATH acts as an advisory & regulatory organization, providing training, instructor certification, insurance and networking opportunities. Member centers must comply with their strict safety guidelines.

I started volunteering here in the beginning of 2012. It was the best experience I've ever had. To see a smile on a child's face and to hear them laugh out loud all through the session that they're on a horse, is the best that can happen. It was therapeutic for me to volunteer there and I was sad that I had to say goodbye a few weeks ago. The only reason I'm not there anymore is because we moved states. All the volunteers there are amazing and helpful. Pamela Rogan is the sweetest person and very involved herself and very caring. Everybody there has the same goal: to see a smile on the riders. And they always have.

Therapeutic equine activities for disabled inidividuals...how do you describe a smile, the sound of someone laughing, or watching a child put their arms around the neck of animal weighing 600 pounds? You can't paint a picture of these joys, for some things are simply "felt" with the heart. The dedicated and professional leaders at Harmony Farms only goal is for the success of every rider; and the wish that all volunteers learn every single time they come to into the barn. Thank you Harmony Farms for allowing me to participate in your vision.
