With this grievance, I commend the the work of many staff who served well and effectively during my four stays at Holmes Regional Hospital. I in no way wish any harm both professionally and personally to any of these fine servants in the medical profession at Holmes Regional Medical Center. I will now itemize what occurred from July 27th 2020 through November 5, 2020.<br>1. On Monday, July 27, 2020 I was hospitalized for a cardiac event that required stints to be installed in my body to assist with cardiac problems, of which I take full responsibility for my lack of self-care of my body. While hospitalized, my Cardiologist was out of town and his office authorized my hospitalization. During my short stay from July 27 through July 29 a Hospitalists, Dr. S. Faris came into my room to, I believe, examine or check on me. I asked why he was seeing me and he appeared to get somewhat defensive by saying: “You don’t have to see me if you do not want to!” I replied: “No, that’s fine, just wanted to know who you were.” The next time I saw him was on day of dismissal on July 29, 2020. He prescribed PRASUGREL, OR ALSO KNOWN AS EFFIENT for the thining of blood. It appears he did not know that I was already taking plavix and low dose aspirin on a daily basis. I don’t know if it was administered before leaving the hospital but began taking it on July 29, 2020.<br>2. On Saturday, August 29, 2020, I had developing and increasing head aches to the point of nausea and visited a clinic in Indiatlantic, Florida. They instructed me to go to the Emergency Room at Holmes Regional immediately. CT scan was taken of my head and a serious sub-dural hematoma was discovered and I was admitted to the ICU. Preparations were taken to have surgery on my internal bleeding in my brain. Due to the thinning of my blood, it was decided that I need to have some time to weaken the effects of the blood thinners that were in my system. My Cardiologist told my to stop taking the effienct/prasugrel as well as all other thinners. After three burr holes were applied to my skull, the bleeding was reduced. The neurosurgeon said the bleed moved my brian to the right and he had pictures to show me in a follow-up visit. I was released on September 7, 2020.<br>3. On October 2, 2020, I began to pass large amounts of blood through my rectum. My wife, Susan Denmark, called the paramedics and I was transported to ER at Holmes Regional Medical Center. While waiting for a room to be ready for me in ER, a paramedic, took me to the restroom and he said I passed out while passing more blood. I was discovered that my hemoglobin was 4 and I was in need of transfusions. I had 9 transfusion during my stay. It was determined I had a lower GI bleed but was never determined exactly where the bleed was. I was released on Friday October 9, 2020.<br>4. October 29, 2020, I could not walk more than ten steps without giving out of breath. We went to ER again and it was determined that I had blood clots in legs and lungs. After 7 or 8 days in ICU, and extensive treatments, I was release on Thursday, November 5, 2020.<br><br>I believe these four events are related by failure to prescribe medications correctly and caused an experience of medical crises listed above. I paid for my co-pays and deductibles to the point of satisfying the maximum deductible for 2020. I will never be the same and the long term effects are evident. I have three holes/indentions on the left side of my head. I continue to have headaches. I believe all of this came about due to how my blood issues were handled.<br>I ask for an investigation and a response to my itemized situations. A coworker had told me about Space Coast Honor Flight, so my husband and I signed up to be volunteers. To see the veterans prepare to go to Washington, D.C. to visit the military memorials is so heartwarming and touching. <br>My husband ended up traveling as a veteran and I later went as a guardian to a veteran. What experiences we had! <br>Space Coast Honor Flight has everything so organized that the trips go without a hitch. <br>I like the group so much that I picked up an additional responsibility--Mail Call Coordinator.

I started helping veterans through the 03xx foundation about 4 years ago. <br>As a certified service officer I’ve been able to help transitioning veterans with navigating their way through the sometimes confusing processes of the VA. Sometimes just having someone you can trust for advice or to help walk you through something unknown helps in volumes. Having an organization that carries on the true meaning of brotherhood speaks volumes for the Marines that are affected and in need.

Believing the Child should always come FIRST inspires me to give. In addition to monetary donations and fundraising efforts, I &ldquo;give&rdquo; by volunteering my time doing various projects at Grandparents Raising Grandchildren of Brevard County Florida Inc.(GRG). The mission of GRG is encompassed by their Child First program. I have witnessed their support groups first hand and was relieved to know I was not alone and very grateful to realize how blessed my family is by comparison. Grandparents becoming &ldquo;Parents Again&rdquo; comes with struggles like new technology and different school work from when we raised our kids. However, the lack of legal documents is the biggest obstacle faced by many grandparents. I learned quickly that our family was in better shape than most of these &ldquo;grandfamilies&rdquo; because we had a signed document allowing us to care for the grandchildren. The project I am proudest of was that I recently wrote instruction manuals for grandparents to be able to file a court petition to obtain Emergency Temporary Parental Responsibility by Relative Caregivers. Grandparents without legal documents have difficulty enrolling the children in school and getting them medical treatment. These documents also allow the child to remain with the grandparents so they can thrive in a safe and loving home. Each time a grandparent can use this guide and file the papers without help from a lawyer; at least $1000 is saved. GRG is a nonprofit agency that has very limited funding so this type of savings is critical. Projects like these allow me to #PayitForward making every day like #GivingTuesday. I strongly encourage you all to get inspired and give to your local charities!

This organization has an excellent Executive director. She is dynamic deep thinking compassionate and caring, as well as intuitive about our client families. Our success rate surpasses National Family Promise success rate. Caring for homeless families so "Every Child deserves a home" is a major goal of each effort with the family. This is a magnificant organization to become involved with with your time, talent and treasure.

I couldn't agree with you more Sheri. I am 4 case workers in and getting evicted cause they say lack of paperwork due to my last job which my case worker at the time and I went to my last job and they told her the same thing they have been telling both of us, she had to get corporate to fax a paper for me to sign. Funny thing is she said she did it already and when asked where thepaper was she said somewhere on her desk. That is only one of many things yea I will be fighting them in court that way this does not happen with another family.

Bridges seems to be a caring company, providing aid to many folks with special needs in the area. As a company, their dealings with employees and contract labor leaves much to be desired. The mostly wonderful staff of field workers go the extra mile while dealing with compensation cuts and rising gasoline prices with expectations of providing a taxi service to many clients. Management treats contractors like employees, ignoring contracts and often trampling on workers rights and firings at a whim. Management gossips about other workers issues in, quite frankly, a very non-professional manner. <br> <br>As a person in need of aid, this company ranks no better or worse than other agencies in the area. As an employer, workers should beware and seek dealing with other more friendly agencies in the area.

I started volunteering here in the beginning of 2012. It was the best experience I've ever had. To see a smile on a child's face and to hear them laugh out loud all through the session that they're on a horse, is the best that can happen. It was therapeutic for me to volunteer there and I was sad that I had to say goodbye a few weeks ago. The only reason I'm not there anymore is because we moved states. All the volunteers there are amazing and helpful. Pamela Rogan is the sweetest person and very involved herself and very caring. Everybody there has the same goal: to see a smile on the riders. And they always have.
