Mission: The Shasta County Private Industry Council was founded in 1979 as part of the Job Training Partnership Act to promote community and individual economic self-sufficiency. Now under the Workforce Investment Act, services focus on Business Startup, Expansion, and Vitalization to achieve a stable and prosperous community.
Programs: The organization provided workforce services to unemployed or underemployed adults age 18 and older. Services include, in part, labor market information, skill assessment, job search and placement assistance. Intensive and training services are available to eligible individuals who have not been able to obtain or keep employment. Training is based upon labor market research and training options available on the ncen eligible training provider's list.

Youths receive instruction leading to completion of ged, tutoring, work experience, mentoring, and comprehensive guidance and counseling.
