We have a lot of stray cats on our property. We recently tried to save one of the kittens and were unsuccessful. After this experience we called West River Spay and Neuter Coalition to see if we could spay and neuter the dozens of feral cats that seem to live and breed on our land. They have been doing this for decades, so we thought if we start spaying and neutering them, we can help.

I called this nonprofit and was berated by the woman who answered the phone. My son and I were on the phone, and explaining what happened and how heartbroken we were. She just kept yelling at us and saying things like 'I never understand people like you, allowing cats to live outdoors and starve to death.' These are feral cats and have lived and reproduced on our 25 acres for dozens of years. We are the last people who would ever abuse animals. We are also the ONLY people trying to do something about this!

I never got over what this woman said to us and how she treated us. My son was so upset as well. I tried leaving reviews on their facebook page and she keeps removing them. I am so glad to get this opportunity to let someone know about this horrible place. They do NOT deserve any award. Oh and the cats, are still unspayed and un-neutered because she refused to even speak to me.

Had a conversation with a volunteer named Donna as I was looking to get a feral colony of cats trapped neutered and released . She was rude, condescending and gruff, She verbally bashed Dr Cook of Rapid City, calling her a "bold faced liar" concerning the criteria for their voucher program. It is never a good idea to trash talk one of the only vets in the area that will deal with their organization. The fact is Dr Cook is an awesome vet and this conversation made me inform her that I would not be needing their services.

This group goes straight to the root of the homeless pet problem, providing low-cost services and even free vouchers. Many people have benefited from this spay-neuter program. Most important, there are thousands fewer unwanted animals suffering because of human stupidity, thoughtlessness and irresponsibility. Thank you, West River Spay-Neuter Coalition, for your wonderful work!

I had a barn full of cats, started with one, she turned out to be pregnat, and they helped me fix them. The women really care about the cats. Just a phone call and I got them in to a clinic. with some. They gave me vouchers for the rest that I couldn't catch. Great people.
