Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Amateur Sports Competitions, Children & Youth, Education, Sports, Youth Development
Mission: Sandhills Machine, Inc. is a nonprofit organized exclusively for the youth in our community. We develop and empower underserved youth through competitive national travel basketball competitions, mentorship, team building, mini sports camps, and education. The social development of our youth using these tools aids in empowering and instilling worth, while promoting a positive influence and healthy environment in our community.
Results: Sandhills Machine's all-volunteer staff have mentored eight of the class of 2021 students to continue their education with academic or athletic scholarships; the remaining six students are gainfully employed and positive contributors to our community. The Class of 2022 student percentage is much higher with eight of them continuing their education and two seeking employment. Sandhills Machine's President was most recently presented with the Platinum Level - Achievement of Community Engagement and Services award. The student-athletes and their basketball teams have captured twelve National, one Reginal, and nine State Championships since the program's inception date of Oct 4, 2017.

Direct beneficiaries per year: 67 student-athletes of which eight out of the ten graduating class members received some type of financial assist with attending college.
Geographic areas served: The Sandhills which consist of ten counties
Programs: we provide a haven for the youth with a focus on education that leads to academic success and athletics that leads to scholarships.
