Causes: Community Improvement & Capacity Building, Emergency Assistance, Homeless & Housing, Homeless Centers, Housing Expense Reduction Support, Human Services
Mission: Moving individuals & communities to a positive future throughout Whitman County, Community Action Center provides subsidized housing, weatherization services, emergency services, energy assistance, food and nutrition education, and self-help home ownership, all to low income individuals and families in Whitman County.
Results: Over 7,000 individual visits, calls, and emails with requests for homeless housing, emergency food, affordable housing, energy assistance, low income weatherization services, and affordable housing for low income, those with disabilities, seniors and others in need.

Programs: Community, family training, and nutritional funds: to provide support to the community and families germane to a variety of service areas, including food and nutrition education.
Energy funds: to provide resources to individuals in need of energy assistance in the community.
Weatherization and home repair funds: to assist members of the community to improve unsafe and/or unhealthy living conditions.
Housing project funds: to provide affordable housing to individuals who are economically challenged.
