I am very careful about which causes or organizations I make any sort of donation to, but I am quite confident that Jodie Smith and her group will use any materials or money sent to them in an appropriate manner. Jodie is genuinely concerned with any injured or abandoned wildlife brought to her and will do anything and everything to help them recover and return them back to where they need to be. We surely need more people with her energy, love and compassion for animals in this world.
Found two very weak baby raccoons! Jodie took them and nursed them back to health!! So thankful for this rescue!!
Having been licensed in Massachusetts as a wildlife rehabber, I didn’t expect to find a suitable situation in Louisiana to rehab. Until I met Jodie. She has brought so much joy in her vast knowledge, support and unconditional love for all wildlife. Jodie and I had such an immediate, incredible bond and that makes for excellent care of the rescues and rehabs. Reliable communication, expert knowledge and experience make us a fantastic team for all creatures great and small.
I can’t thank Wild Nature Wildlife Rescue and Jodie enough for the incredible compassion and care they showed when I found an injured fox on the side of the road. From the moment I contacted them, Jodie acted quickly and professionally, making sure the little fox received immediate medical attention and a safe, nurturing environment. Her dedication to Louisiana's wildlife is truly inspiring. It’s clear that every animal she takes in is treated like family. Watching the fox recover and eventually be released back into the wild was nothing short of amazing. We are so lucky to have someone like Jodie doing this life-saving work in our community. Highly recommend supporting this amazing organization!
We found seven possum pinkies where the mother was dead. Jodi helped us so much in finding a rescue person who specializes in neonate pinkies. If it were not for Jodi helping us, I'm not sure what we would have done. You can definitely tell Jodi has a love for rescuing wildlife.
Jodie went above and beyond to help 3 baby raccoons, that were abandoned by their mother for some reason. Maybe because they were not all in the best health. But I was able to bring them to Jodie and she nursed them back to health. She really cares about wildlife and has so much knowledge on how to care for them. Kind of jealous to be honest lol
Jody Smith was so knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me with rescuing baby raccoons stuck under a friend’s car. She clearly cares about these animals and will go the extra mile to help them! She promptly returned my texts and calls and I am thankful for the help she provided!
I had a wonderful experience seeking help from her regarding possum babies. She's incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to assist me, even though we live in different states. Her guidance was invaluable and she even helped me find someone that could properly care for them. I truly appreciate her kindness, expertise, and willingness to help despite the distance. I highly recommend her if you need help with any wild critters!
Jodie was so wonderful helping me help an abandoned baby squirrel and getting it in the right hands to be properly cared for. Thanks for all you do for wildlife in our area. Susan Smith
We’ve known Jodie with WNR for four years now. She’s a passionate and dedicated rehabilitation professional who truly cares about the animals. I’d highly recommend her team and we work together often. Don’t hesitate to give them

I was so happy to find out that there is a wildlife rescue in my area. I found a baby without its mother and watched it for 3 days- she didn’t come back so I brought it here! They sent me photos and let me know how it was doing until they released that baby. I’m glad that they were able to help me. Very nice people here.
I had a great experience dealing with this nonprofit. I called all around to wildlife rehabbers most people didn’t answer the phone and then they never even bothered to call me back! Jodie called me right back within 20 minutes to assist. She gave me good directions of what to do with this baby squirrel to try to reunite it with the mother, but she didn’t come. Jodie found me a licensed person who would take it in to rescue it.
She was very kind and easy to deal with. I learned so much just talking with her on the phone because she is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend, I will call her if I find any more animals. What had happened was we cut down an oak tree in our yard and we didn’t know there were squirrels in it. Later, I found a nest broken up on the ground. I didn’t see the mother, but I found this baby. I tried to look, but I didn’t find any any others.
I saw a squirrel get run over by a car in front of my house. It was sad and I didn't think much of it afterwards. Two days later I see a juvenile squirrel on the ground/on his back very lethargic somewhat non responsive. I took it in and reached out to Jodie. She responded very quickly and gave me many great tips to keep the squirrel healthy. I ended up taking the squirrel to our local college veterinary school (and a squirrel sibling I found the next day). Jodie Even reached out to make sure the squirrels were safe. It's nice to have an organization with people that actually care about animals..

Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind words.
We found a juvenile squirrel which may have fallen out of a tree. Jodie helped me step by step to get the squirrel proper care. She literally helped me throughout the evening after business hours! You can tell that she really loves and cares about these animals. More people like this are needed in the world today. Shout out to Julia who is also extremely knowledgeable about squirrels and is helping get the little one rehabilitated.

Thank you so much Bianca, it was my pleasure.
After the hurricane I found this cute little squirrel. The entire nest was on the ground and there was no mother around. After I tried to wait for the mother to come, she didn’t.. I called Jodie at Wild Nature Rescue in Prairieville. I live close by and she was happy to rehabilitate this sweet little guy. She sent me photos until he was set free. Thanks Jodie!

it was my pleasure to assist you!
I have spoken with Jodie on two occasions now. The first was when a storm blew a bird nest out of a tree, and she walked me through how to build the babies a temporary nest until
The mother could retrieve them. They were picked up by mom within two hours. More recently, I had a storm blow a tree over and spill a nest of newborn squirrels. Unfortunately the mother was killed and she helped me get the newborns to the appropriate facility to help them. Wild Nature rescue has been so pleasant to work with, and an incredible help in taking care of our little friends when they need it most. FYI if you have a little property, you can sign up with them to have rehabilitated animals released on your land. I cannot speak highly enough of Jodie and Wild Nature Rescue!

Thank you so much for these words of support, call me anytime!
I found two baby squirrel and couldn’t take care of them myself. I called so many rehabbers and no one even answered the phone or called back until I called Wild Nature Rescue! She called right back to help me and was the nicest lady and you can tell when you talk to her how much she loves the animals. I felt really good taking the squirrels to her. She sent me photos with updates and I loved that!
Jodie is my new mentor in my journey to become a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. From our first conversation she has been nothing but encouraging and very informative. She is an expert in the field and I am so grateful to be able to learn from her and to work with someone as passionate about animal welfare as I am.

Thank you so much! It’s great to have you on board.
I had contacted Jodie S. with Wild Nature Rescue regarding a goose with an injured wing. It was a Sunday afternoon and she messaged me back right away and called me after checking the phone message I left. She was very kind and helpful and after speaking to her for a little while, I know that when I find a wild animal in need and I feel desperate, who I need to contact. She also told me about other wildlife rescues to look into for different types of animals. I could tell she has a love for the animals who are left homeless, helpless and injured at times and I could feel her compassion and love for animals very quickly. I appreciated the quick response and being so helpful. Thanks Again!!!! Thanks Again, Angel N.
Jodi is the most knowledgeable and helpful rehabber. Her passion is unmatched. She goes above and beyond to make sure each animal is properly cared for and successfully returned to the wild.
Jodie always puts the animals she takes first, as it should be. She works tirelessly, 24/7 to give them the best possible outcome. She is a leader, meaning she is always right in there doing the mundane work necessary for animals to thrive as well as the challenging. No task is beneath her.
I brought her an injured little opossum that my dog brought to me and she was able to save it and continue to raise it until it was old enough to be on its own again.
Jodie at this rescue is wonderful and caring person with the animals! She helped me when I found a nest with 3 baby squirrels in it that fell out of a tree in my yard. I know that I took them to the right place and I love that she sent me updates on their progress as they grew. Highly recommend this rescue and I support them when I can.
The evening after a big storm with high winds came through our area, we found a baby raccoon in a pile of leaves and branches under a tree. I called Jodie with Wild Nature Rehab. She gave me directions over the phone because we hoped to keep it safe so predators couldn’t get it but, at the same time, we were hoping mama would come back and get it. This was a little bitty baby. Mama did not return that night so Jodie gave me great instructions on what to do to help it survive the night and she came and got it the next morning. The baby is doing well and will be released back into the woods when she is ready. All credit to Jodie. This was a very small baby and Jodie was completely dedicated to saving it without any hesitation. Pics attached of when we first found her and now.
I always was so interested in animals and wanted to do everything I could to help them. I have found a new interest in the wildlife of our world. I came across a lady named Jodie Smith. She has been such an amazing help in helping me start my journey with wildlife and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better mentor. She has given me so much information and so much knowledge to help me with this experience! Since the moment we started our conversation she has been nothing but kind and has don’t everything to show me her love and passion for these animals! She is such a great human being and I am so glad I found her! If anyone is looking for help or assistance with the wildlife and wants someone who has loads of knowledge and experienced along with so much kindness and passion, I definitely recommend Jodie Smith to help you get the job done!!
This rescue center has the most caring and genuine people working there! No one can care more about saving the animals than Jodie! Thank you for all that you do, the animals are in good hands!
they helped me with a baby raccoon that had gotten stuck in a tree and was crying, i guess it had lost its mother! im so thankful!
Jodie was amazing with the raccoon babies I found in my attic. She is a truly caring, kind human who genuinely loves animals. She instructed me patiently and orchestrated their rehabilitation. Can’t say enough about this sweet lady.
I’d highly recommend Wild Nature Wildlife Rescue! They really care about the animals in their care. I took them 2 baby raccoons that had fallen from a roof. At Wild Nature they really took lots of time to explain the rehabilitation program to me. They made sure that I knew what would happen to the little raccoons over the months that they were to be in their care. She is such a kind and caring person and everything that she does is to insure that the little animals will grow up to be healthy and ready to be released again back into the trees! I especially loved getting updates and photos as they grew.
My neighbor was parking her vehicle to walk into work after lunch break and she noticed a tiny baby raccoon leaning against the side of an empty building. It was during one of those extremely hot days over the summer. She called me after seeing the baby raccoon, no other siblings around or adults with the little one. I was able to find and catch the baby, i called my friend Jodi and she was able to meet me and was happy to help this tiny baby raccoon that for sure would have died without his mother around. Jodi shared videos of his progress, my neighbor and I know he was cared for as well as the other babies she was fostering 24 - 7. A rehabilitator like Jodi, help wild life orphans grow and get stronger with the goal of eventually releasing them into the wild. Without their work, dedication and knowledge of these organizations .. many, many wild babies would parish in our community… Thank You for all you do!
