H.O.A.M. Hope On A Mission is a city of Poughkeepsie based non-profit that offers an outreach to the Homeless by providing food, clothes, and basic supplies each week. I joined the group 2 Christmases ago and I've increased volunteering each Saturday. HOAM provides food on the street, each Saturday morning and night! This can only happen with the communities support. In Freezing temperatures' we've luckily had donations that allowed HOAM to rent space for a few hours to keep warm over Breakfast. Most of the individuals helping, will make Breakfast or Dinner and serve on the streets of Poughkeepsie, as long as it's warm outside you'll find us on the corner of S. Clinton & Main St each Saturday. HOAM was started by CaraMia Bacchiochi, years ago for struggling drug addicts, women and men and the homeless. My experience has been incredibly rewarding. If you're interested in donating funds or suppling food for the volunteers to prepare please contact us via facebook messenger! Thanks so much!

I don’t actually recall Exactly how I stumbled upon Cara Mias amazing Hope On A Mission, I feel as though we’ve been in one another’s lives on and off for many years!
Personally- my mission has always been to be sure people do not go without food. Whether Helping people in my community quietly when they ask, donating to my church food pantries, years ago being involved with meals on wheels, volunteering at the lunchbox, it all tied together. Finding HOAM is a blessing to myself and my family. We can contribute by dropping off items regularly, or by choosing an evening to “own” to serve. My children serve with me, they cook the hot meals, make the sandwiches, create snack bags. They have organized toiletry bags, holiday candy bags.
We love HOAM-serving and helping those in need is a blessing. Building relationships with these people who need us, is a blessing.
I have no words for how thankful I am for HOAM!

These women are AMAZING!! No matter what the weather, they are out there helping those in need, whether it be a warm smile, a kind word or a hot meal...they are there for you. I help out whenever i can, even if it's just cooking a meal or muffin that will later be served to our sisters or brothers in need!!

The woman that runs this is one of the most humble people I've ever met. Its overwhelmingly inspiring. She's honest, and tells it like it is which is like a.breath of fresh air. If we had 100,000 more Cara Mias this country would be warm and never hungry ever again.

I volunteer for this organization almost on a weekly basis. Our hope is to restore dignity to homeless and addicted women of the streets of Poughkeepsie, NY Our women need to be loved and recognized for the daughters they are...Kingdom daughters. Each was created by God, for God, and we display this every Saturday night on the corner of South Clinton and Main Streets by providing opportunities for relationship without judgement to aid in restoring dignity to the lost, lonely, broken women. We also provide a warm meal, toiletries, clothing and referrals.
