Causes: Sports, Sports Associations & Training Facilities
Mission: Our mission is to provide after-school opportunities for middle-school aged children in the community to become involved in athletics so that they may learn the character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and perseverance while in a safe and supervised environment with their peers. In addition, the foundation works to provide assistance to the victims of hurricane harvey.
Programs: We provide funding to middle schools nationwide that have little to no funding for after-school athletic programs. Participation in athletic programs helps students in the classroom as well since they need to attend school and must have good grades to participate. By becoming involved in athletics in their communities, they will learn the basic character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic and perseverance while in a safe and supervised environment with their peers these valuable lessons will serve them well beyond their years of playing after-school and in the workplace and in many aspects of their adult lives. Then we will have succeeded.
in response to hurricane harvey, the foundation consented to and adopted for a period of time to expand it's section 501(c) tax-exempt status to add the houston flood relief with separate accounts for those funds. During the year the foundation raised over $41 million for those affected by hurricane harvey. In addition, the foundation set out to fill a semi-truck to send to tx by holding a food/supply drive for 3 days in wi. However, the outpouring support we had at 3 drop off sites (janesville by the trucking co who donated the first driver & truck, american family in madison and pewaukee high school). The foundation filled 12 semi-trucks and 1 cargo plane out of madison! In tx semis arrived at a warehouse where volunteers unloaded, sorted and reloaded for 4 distribution sites for the victims to come pick up food & supplies.
