Mission: Our goals are to: · End pet overpopulation in the state of Mississippi. · Increase access to low-cost spay and neuter services. · Increase awareness of pet overpopulation and promote spay and neuter as the most effective means to reduce it. · Foster caring and respectful attitudes toward animals and their needs. · Engage and educate the community on the benefits of spay and neuter.
Results: More than 77,000 animals fixed through our programs!
Target demographics: end pet homelessness
Direct beneficiaries per year: 5,869 animals through our Big Fix Clinic, and 1,901 animals through our voucher program.

Programs: Mississippi Spay and Neuter gives pet owners access to low-cost spay and neuter services for their dogs and cats at the Big Fix Clinic, a high-volume spay/neuter clinic located in Pearl.
We provide free transportation every month from Lauderdale, Pike and Warren Counties.
For MS residents outside the service area of any spay/neuter clinics, we provide vouchers to assist with the cost of surgery at a local participating veterinarian.
The big fix clinic's targeted efforts help reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats that subsequently end up homeless, neglected, and euthanized in the jackson metro area. Also, in this program, ms span operates a fixed location in pearl, ms, which is centrally located in mississippi to enable a greater number of people to have access to our spay and neuter services. During 2014 approximately 5,307 cats and dogs were spayed or neutered.
education & training - to educate other animal organizations about the importance of spay and neuter services and how to better outreach into their local communities so that the general public will become more aware of the benefits of spaying and neutering their cats and dogs.
