Thank You WRIM for the years of service helping others in all kinds of circumstances and ways! You have been there for me & my husband during several different challenging times of life. Love your support, leading and faith directing ways
I have benefited from this ministry during seasons of where I needed help creating space to connect with God, others, and myself. Lisa provides a culture in which caregivers find belonging and support. I often refer people to this ministry when extra support is needed as I am confident of the experience they will receive.
Bible study with other special needs Moms, led by Lisa, using their book "Finding Glory in the Thorns" was a huge encouragement to me! My daughter loves Jammin' Pie Fest! The pies, music, and Christian fellowship is fantastic!
In late January; our son went home to be with Jesus and the stage of our journey as special needs parents entered a new era. While we begin our process of grief and find our way, WRIM remains a constant source of support. Through peer support groups, counseling and prayer, we remain as connected as ever to this organization. I’m learning that I will always be a special needs parent and grateful for the counseling we have received and are receiving.

A very heart centered Christian disability ministry, who supported me as a special needs single father navigate the changes that divorce brought. Lisa's intentional coaching style helped me to refocus and embrace my role. I have also very much appreciated "Jesus Let's Talk", which I read to my son all the time!
Incredible ministry, paired with fantastic counseling and peer mentoring. It's been quite the blessing to our family.
Our family has benefited greatly from the weekly online Caregiver Support group. Lisa always has a stimulating and relevant theme and quote to dive into discussion and apply to our lives as caregivers. This is time I look forward to every week. Additionally, Lisa has counseled me well as a pastoral counselor and I am so appreciative of her wisdom and caring spirit. Larry and Lisa's story of disability is not for the faint of heart, and speaks warmly to those "running on fumes" of disability life, who long for someone to come alongside them and listen. WRIM truly is a great nonprofit!
Walk Right In is a safe place for parents to be able to tell their stories of parenting special needs kids and young adults. WRIM is a safe space where you don’t have to fierce…..where you can let all of your tough times get said out loud with out judgement….to be understood unconditionally……to be able to be prayed for, to be gently told yup I hear you.. it is dang hard but you are a hero in so many unseen ways.
I love serving with this amazing nonprofit that helps give families with disabilities hope! Life of a caregiver of an individual is highly stressful and many times the need of a calming voice and counseling to help set your course is vital. Walk Right In Ministries is just that, they can provide Godly advice and come from personal experience of being a parent/caregiver which immediately allows our families to feel a connection and hope! After working with Walk Right In, you quickly realize that this amazing organization truly walks with you in peace, purpose, strong relationships, and resilience — one step of faith at a time.
Walk Right In Ministries has such strength in building faith, community, and fellowship with special needs families, which is so crucial to the community that they serve. There is such comfort knowing that WRIM is a platform that not only supports special needs families and caregivers, but offers practical support.
The care and expertise of this ministry is second to none. They set the example for how all care ministries should operate. They are widely connected but deeply rooted and treat people with the highest dignity.
WRIM provides necessary resources that support, advocate and educate families with differing abilities. They speak on issues that raise awareness and cast vision for how others can stand (or sit) in difficult spaces with these families. There is deep community that is created out of the work that WRIM does.
This ministry cares with incredible compassion. The recognize the intrinsic value in all people. Walk Right In provides care for caregivers who all too often feel alone.
We knew that our family needed to connected with Lisa & Larry and their 3 daughters. God was putting our families together in several different ways. What we didn't know was that we would be involved with Walk Right In Ministry from the beginning. When we read their book, "Glory in the Thorns", it prompted us to start a Sunday School class in our tiny church in Kief, ND. This led to Lisa inviting my husband and I to join this ministries Board of Directors, to which we said "yes" even though we were 8 hours away. We served joyfully and it was a blessing to get to know this family. Since then, we have watched this ministry grow in ways that are amazing and unexplainable. We are not directly involved anymore as our own family has grown (16 grandkids), but we pray for this family and ministry and thank God for what He is doing through their lives. God definitely has his hand on Walk Right In MInistry. Lisa is also a gifted writer. Her blog inspires and appeals us all!
WRIM is a great help and support for families with special needs members. They provide support and counseling to parents and family members from experts that have firsthand experience and knowledge with the challenges facing their situations. They also have events that people can bring their families to and feel welcome and not ostracized. I have volunteered for this organization for several years and have seen the powerful impact that they have.
Whether at at the entrance of a church, in a grocery store, on a phone call, or at a Pie Fest gathering, we see many people who have a great hunger for companionship with other persons who can understand the 24 hour a day pressures of being responsible to provide care for a loved one who is dependent on the help of another.
That Lisa and Larry are truly gifted in a caregiving role is apparent in how they parent their daughter Carly. Through Walk Right In Ministry they work non-stop to extend help to so many persons by providing assistance, counsel, and companionship to those caregivers they go out of their way to come together with.
One example of this is the annual Pie Fest they organize and produce. At this event caregivers and their loved ones are joined by others in the community who enjoy showing their support for these champions for the persons they serve.
God bless them all!
I was called to lead our Disability Ministry at New Hope Church 2 years ago. My love for people with special needs trumped my inexperience as a DM cooridnator. Our church building hosted a MDMC meeting where I met Lisa Jamieson and was introduced to WRIN ministries. A true Godsend.
WRIN has provided access to a generous amount of resources for all leaders of Disability Ministries. From information about upcoming conferences, Round Table on -line panel discussions, insightful and helpful recommendations for books, authors, speakers, blog sites and movies to name a few. It's a true blessing to be connected to the community of passionate and dedicated Kingdom workers that make up and maintain WRIM.
