Causes: Job Training, Sheltered Employment
Mission: NewView Oklahoma empowers individuals who are blind or have low vision, maximizing their opportunities for independence through all stages of life.
Results: NewView Oklahoma is the leading employer of the blind and visually impaired in Oklahoma, providing over 100 jobs. NewView is also the only private agency int he state that provides specialized vision rehabiliation services.
Programs: Employment program - nvo employs blind individuals in the manufacturing of products and the delivery of services. Products include fire hoses, first aid kits, vinyl shower curtains and wheel chocks and are sold primarily to federal and state agencies. Service contracts include mail rooms for the navy and switchboard operations for the air force. Manufacturing employs approx. 25 blind workers and service contracts employ approx. 40 blind workers
low vision rehabilitation - approx. 584 clients served in fiscal year 9/30/14. This is accomplished through low vision exams and assessments with follow-up occupational therapy.
enrichment programs include youth camps, rowing, art programs, etc.
