I found JBY at an incredibly challenging time in my life. My strength and mobility were limited and I desperately needed the meditation and mindfulness that yoga offered. I’ve tried yoga at other studios and just hadn’t found the right fit. Being a teacher, yoga can get quite expensive but because JBY is donation based, it makes it more feasible for me to attend classes and donate when I can. I am so grateful to have found JBY when I needed it the most, and will continue to support it any way I can.

My husband and I started taking community yoga classes with Jai Bhakti Yoga two years ago. We were greeted with such warmth and openness. We were novices, but were made to feel so completely comfortable regarding our lack of knowledge and ability. We followed Christina's advice of "This is your practice, do what is right for you and your body". These words of wisdom continue to guide us as we grow and deepen our practice.
Although Christina is the heart of Jai Bhakti Yoga, all of the teachers have nurturing, compassionate, passionate and joyful souls. All students are welcomed and encouraged. So much is given through these community classes. It is truly an amazing and inspirational experience.

JBYF is incredible! Have truly built a community around physical and mental health. This was so valuable to me, especially in New Orleans where a lot of the communities revolve around alcohol. Attending yoga classes with JBYF was an integral part of my weekly schedule!

I went to a restorative practice one evening and it was one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. The class was not too crowded and the teacher had a calming and gentle voice that helped create a soothing and meditative class. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a smaller yoga session with more individual focus and some stress relief.

Christina’s classes have helped me to see yoga in an entirely different light. She naturally finds ways to make yoga accessible and achievable for literally anyone. Her knowledge of her art paired with her compassion for people and her excellence in both performance and professionalism make Jai Bhakti Yoga what it is! So grateful I found these classes.

I recently moved back home to New Orleans and was looking for ways to reconnect so the chance to participate in community yoga sounded great. Christina and Jai Bhakti have really helped me feel grounded during this time and I’m happy to say that I’ve been going to classes 2-3 times a week. While many yoga studios are cost prohibitive, Jai Bhakti is really out there connecting with the community and offering yoga opportunities to all regardless of economic status. Additionally, there area yoga classes for all ability levels from aqua yoga to restorative to more traditional flow classes. But I do want to stress that more than just a workout, Jai Bhakti uses yoga as a way to connect to our community with compassion, love, gratitude, and abundant grace.

The founder and staff treat all yogis/participants/patrons with the utmost care and respect. They take such incredible care and professionalism in all classes offered. I especially love the affordability and mindfulness of lower income folks that they serve per its mission. Love, love, love this org!

Hi,
My name is Cathy and I was transplanted from Miami to New Orleans. After living for 60 years in another state the move was very traumatic to my sense of well being and community spirit. Christina’s classes, in gentle yoga and aqua yoga, were instrumental in establishing my sense of well being and worth once more. I am a Special Needs teacher and have also witnessed how Christina’s practice has supported the well being and acceptance of this cities exceptional populations as well. We as a community are so lucky to have this vital non-profit in our community!!!!

I heard about this organization on Facebook. As a retiree, who was undergoing double knee replacements it was about a year before I actually got to a class. It had been decades since I had practiced any yoga. This first class was wonderful. Christina is the ultimate yoga teacher. This class was water yoga. The age range , ethnicity and gender were various. The poses were fun and flowed wonderfully. I left the class looking forward to the next one. As it happened the next class I participated in was at an outside pool on the first day of summer in NOLA> THe sun shone, the sky was blue and I experienced a beautiful feeling of renewal. This foundation is a blessing to each individual who participates. And, they work to bring their gifts to as many persons as possible. I have no doubt that if Jai Bhakti is able to continue and grow, we will find World Peace!
