I have been involved with Global Majority since its inception, and am very proud of the progress that we have made. Highlights include the development of an International Advisory Board with 32 members from 28 countries, the design and delivery of 11 graduate seminars in eight countries and a partnership focusing on "at risk youth" in Salinas, CA. We are currently preparing for our tenth year of operations, and plan to combine our local and international programs through the creation of the Global Majority Fellowship which will provide a modest stipend for graduates of our program in Salinas to continue their studies in non-violent conflict resolution and to help staff/attend an international graduate seminar. Please join us in "celebrating 10-years of promoting peace through dialogue!"

In the beginning, Global Majority sought to provide a framework and support to anyone interested in making the world a more nonviolent and peaceful place. Over the years, the organization matured into a multinational, global presence with graduate-level seminars on promoting peace through dialogue in the Middle East, Chile, Costa Rica, South Africa, Nepal and the US. Even through the recession Global Majority persevered by relying on a devoted group of volunteers and the premise that negotiation and conflict resolution is a valuable service throughout the world.

I began working as a volunteer with Global Majority after attending one of their outstanding seminars/conferences in Amman, Jordan in 2007. Today I am on their Board of Directors. When learning about non-violent conflict resolution, their is no more powerful way to create a context for the experience than to conduct the learning activity within the conflict region. Although their programs are typically designed for graduate-level students, mediators, academics and other international professionals will benefit immensely from participation in these unique programs. Besides the Middle East, Global Majority has conducted programs in South Africa, Chile, and Nepal.
